No Taste Every Morning

Post by sidesleeper7 » Thu Jul 23, 2026 12:59 am

I have been trying to figure this out for awhile now ..
I do have bad allergies but every morning for probably the past 2 years I have no taste in the morning then usually later in the day it will come back .. I am suspicious it is the cpap Causing it / I use nasal pillows .. I have tried also using humidifier and things are no different .. has anyone ever dealt with this or have any ideas for a solution?

Ps I have been to ent and he suspected inflammation from allergies/

Thanks

Put a tiny bit of this on your tongue once awakened.

You won't know until you try it. It's a cheap trial. If it doesn't work, you can use the horseradish in sauces and other recipes.

I have been on sleep therapy...CPAP...for around 3 years now and I am very aware that my taste and smell senses have quite obviously diminished.

Its a great pity because I am an avid cook and love doing so.

I cant absoloutely say that CPAP is the cause of this because I also had COVID once some time ago and I also occassionally get a small issue with sinus blockage. (Usually my sinus are clear and freel flowing though. Only other possibility...Age and stage...my go to for most issues!!!! :D

It's definitely the allergy congestion dry mouth combo from mouth-breathing at night. If you're mouth-leaking with nasal pillows, your nasal passages dry out completely. Try a chin strap or mouth tape before burning your tongue with horseradish!
