New user – residual fatigue + aerophagia at fixed 12 – OSCAR charts

Post by user4542 » Sun Aug 02, 2026 12:43 pm

Hi everyone,
I’m on day 21 of CPAP and I’m still extremely tired during the day. I’m trying to figure out why.
Quick background:

Started CPAP about 21 days ago
Machine: ResMed AirSense 11
Currently fixed pressure 12 cmH₂O
Pressure was increased to 12 because of flow limitation notes. I felt a small improvement, but then developed aerophagia (air in the stomach).
Despite consistent use, the daytime fatigue is still bad.

Last night’s OSCAR (Aug 1):

AHI 1.33
OA: 0
Hypopnea: 0.48
Clear Airway: 0.85
Large Leak: 0%
Flow Limitation: / 95% 0.03
Usage: 8 hours 17 minutes
EPR looks active (EPAP around 9)

here is a link to my sleep Hq data: https://sleephq.com/public/teams/share_ ... f56abf292a

Even with these clean numbers, I’m still very tired.
What else should I be looking at in the data, or what other common reasons could explain residual fatigue this far in?
Any insight is appreciated.
Thank you.

What medications are you currently taking?
Any other physical or mental health issues going on?
How many hours of real sleep are you actually getting? I see multiple restarts during this night you shared so I assume a lot of restarts because you couldn't fall asleep..why? does this happen frequently.

For the aerophagia you may need to lower the fixed pressure.

HGH and testosterone?
Physically, and mentally healthy,
Eight or nine hours of sleep at night, I usually fall asleep within 32 minutes to an hour, and usually have one or two restart a night, that night (August 1) I had a more because the pressure was higher at 12.

Reducing IPAP until aerophagia stops is an option. Reduce PS by .2 until no aerophagia or if you know the PS that does not cause aerophagia, go right to it then:

Once aerophagia stops, raise PS by .2 increments, giving a few days to each uptick for adaptation. Adaptation might allow you to use PS 4 without aerophagia.

Check Trigger and Cycle settings. Make sure they match your breathing pattern.
