Unsure about APAP range based on OSCAR data

Post by Zurindas » Fri Dec 19, 2025 11:36 am

Okay I tried to post this before and I think I deleted it by accident but I'm looking for some help with adjusting my APAP range and was hoping someone could look at my OSCAR graph and give some input on whether I need to make some adjustments.

For the last 3 ish years my APAP range has been 5.0-15.0 and was just left like that but I feel that it may be too low and too high, I'm concerned about the machine taking too long to reach a pressure that controls events if it's set too low and I'm also worried about the higher end causing leaks. My AHI is very good (usually 0.6, 1.5 ish absolute max) but I have a lot of trouble with waking up in the middle of the night or very early in the morning which cuts my sleep short and I'm wondering if tightening the APAP range could reduce the large changes and maybe provide some more consistency/comfort. In general my apneas seem very well controlled but I just have so much trouble with fatigue and daytime napping and it's been getting worse so I want to rule out any issues with my CPAP machine. Prior to this my median pressure was 5.8 but from what I've heard the machines will try to stay at the lowest pressure they can so I have reason to believe a higher minimum could be helpful for reducing the time it takes to ramp to a pressure during events.

I've had my range at 7.0 for the last couple weeks and its been okay but sometimes the pressure will top out around 11, as you can see in the first screenshot, and I'm worried that those events aren't being controlled as well as they should be (I'm not sure if this is any cause for concern)

I tried raising my maximum pressure back to 15 but it seems as it gets to the higher pressures it's causing very high leak which also happened on another night a while back when I had the max pressure at 12, it went above 11 and starting having a lot of leakage. Is there any justification here to put the maximum pressure above 11?

I feel like 7.0-11.0 is closer to where I should be at but I'm really not sure so any input is appreciated, thanks in advance!

Do you take any medications of any kind? If so, what?
Are you sleeping soundly for the most part are do you think you are waking often during the night?
Any other physical or mental health issues going on?
