Luna II auto CPAP machine, questions about

Post by movingon » Thu Dec 11, 2025 5:23 pm

Hi all,
If there is a link somewhere in the forum that addresses this question I would appreciate being pointed to it. I'm considering buying a Luna II CPAP to use when I'm staying at an ailing relatives house.
Rather than hauling my machine back and forth I'll just leave the Luna at the other house. I suppose my first concern is noise. I'm aware that the question of "noise" is very relative, but my relative
has no experience with CPAP machines, and I also don't particularly want any surprises. If there is any one who has personal experience with the above mentioned machine I would appreciate some
subjective feedback to my question. I'm going to assume that since the machine is being sold as a CPAP machine it will at least do what a CPAP machine is supposed to do. :) I also understand that in
order to get another CPAP I may have to do some creative "whining" to get a prescription for it... which I'm ready to do. Thanks for the help!

while you're waiting for a reply, try using Google this way-"cpaptalk.com Luna II". that will search our forum and present what ever results may show up here.

good luck!

oh also you might try just Luna as most people will prolly use that instead of the full name.

Personally, I stay away from Chinese-made machines.

You could register at CPAP.com and keep an eye out for discounts. You might find a ResMed AirSense 10 or 11 as cheap as a Luna. Whichever model, make sure it's a ResMed AutoSet.

I just now looked. They have a ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet discounted to $672. Great machine. Good price.

Consider getting a used machine off of an online buy/sell site.

I'd get a Resmed 10 or 11 autoset.

There is an argument to be made for getting the same machine as your current machine. This way it is setup identical and will perform as your current machine does. It also uses the same consumables.

If you are going to buy another Respironics, make sure the seller proves it's been properly refurbed.
