Phillips Dreamwear
Phillips Dreamwear
Long Post: I am switching from Resmed to Dreamwear, nasal pillow. Both top of the head models. You don’t feel the air from the Resmed vent but you feel and hear from Phillips. Is this normal? The air stream is crazy and my Oxygen level was 96 average when usually 99 but by AHI was below 1. Noted it’s still venting at the top of the hose. Has anyone noticed the huge difference between Resmed and Phillips in this regard? By the way I’m switching to Phillips because I have a better nose fit from Phillips in M. No good fit in Resmed. I’ve tried all sizes. I have also tried multiple full face and nasal. I could have a store. Only nasal pillows stay on my face and don’t leak .

The manufacturers rate the noise level of the Philips below that of the ResMed.

Re: Phillips Dreamwear
I've got both masks and have switched back and forth between them, I started with the ResMed, then used the Resprionics for a while, now I'm back to the Resmed, but I use the headgear from the Respironics.
The ResMed P30i vent is much less obtrusive, the airflow is very diffuse when compared to the Phillips. This is especially true for a sleeping partner, the Dreamwear vent definitely blows air, you can't even feel the air coming from the P30i. I don't think there is much difference in the actual flow rate but its extremely diffuse with the ResMed vent. You could blow out birthday candles with the Dreamwear. I don't notice any real difference in noise level.
As for the fit. I can't use the Resmed P30i with the standard headgear, I just can't control the leaks. The headgear slips up the back of my head causing the pillows to lose contact. The Dreamwear mask with the silicone side pieces worked much better for me.
But then I discovered that the Dreamwear headgear fits on the ResMed mask perfectly. The Resmed P30i mask has the spring tubes. They create some flexible tension on the pillows, the extra spring keeps the nasal pillows in contact with my nose when I move around.
Long story short, the ResMed P30i but with the Respironics Deamwear headgear is better than either mask the way they are supplied. I buy 3rd party headgear on Amazon, its reasonably priced and works well. The headgear stays in place, and I have very few leak problems.

True. At one time, I had the vent rates, but I can't find them at the moment.mlmollenkamp wrote: ↑Mon Nov 10, 2025 9:15 pmI don't think there is much difference in the actual flow rate
