How do you treat RLS?

Which hobbies would you recommend that they can do sitting quietly in a recliner?

Re: Relentless Leg Syndrome
After nearly 15 years I still have good results with my jumpy legs using a TENS Unit with the electrodes on my lower back before the RLS kicks in too bad. Prevention works best.

Re: Relentless Leg Syndrome
I have had RLS for years. I use a combination of home remedies and prescribed medication to treat it. The medicine I take is called Mirapex - one tablet a day. There’s also Requip- but that didn’t work for me.
Also, it’s important to know your triggers. These are things in the diet that will kick off a restless leg episode. The main trigger is salt. Too much salt in your diet will start a restless leg episode in no time at all. Also, caffeine and chocolate are huge triggers for me. I can sometimes have chocolate cake Ok, but other kinds of chocolate like chocolate chips or the chocolate that’s on the outside of a Klondike bar can really kick in the restless leg episode for me.
Home remedies often save the day for me. The best one for me is a hot bath. They’ll be quite a few nights here and there where I will be frustrated and cannot sleep because my legs are acting up. So I take a hot bath. And I may even soap up my legs real good and wash them. Almost always after that, I fall right to sleep. Another home remedy if you can believe it is Red wine vinegar. You can rub it on your legs and sometimes it will kill the RLS on contact. I hope some of this helps. Good luck !
