Aircurve 10 Vauto suddenly smells smoky

Post by dmoss74 » Thu Aug 07, 2025 7:51 am

for the last couple nights, i noticed that my AC10 was smelling like smoke. we have some fires in our area, and thought that might be it.

but it isn't i just tried it out again while i'm awake, and it isn't from any fires. i even tried my mask/hose combo on the wife's machine, and no smell.

i also have a backup a10 and it is running fine.

i'd like to fix this, but i'm really only comfortable changing the blower motor. but i have no clue if that's the culprit. is there a pc board in these that you can look at (with a magnifier) to see if there are any fried components?

i'm assuming a whole new motherboard would be pricy.

and i don't use any humidification. i have an end cap, not the humidifier reservoir in this machine.

edit: i noticed a similar smell at the power supply input on the back of the machine. i've heard some smells from the ac PSU can work their way into the intake. Plus, i'm noticing that machine takes some jiggling at the connection to get power.

i'm wondering if that jack is frying. or if the PSU is bad. it isn't overly hot at the transformer, but who knows? either way, this machine is offline for a while.
