I wouldn't take anything that old no matter what, or at least I'd get new stuff. Any reason you can't lose even a little weight - sometimes a little self discipline and education re what to eat helps.

Can you rewrite that sentence so it makes sense?

So, which machine are you asking about? Please state exact model.I am using a dreamstation with 14-18 pressure.
(I like popcorn.)

Make sure the air filter in your machine isn't dusty.
Personally, the only times I've smelled anything like popcorn while using cpap is when the metal in the humidifier tank has become hot when I've accidentally let it go dry. That smell wakes me up, so I try to make sure I keep enough water in the humidifier.
Alternatively, the brain can sometimes suggest to us a variety of different scenarios and foods and scents whenever it is trying to make sense of differences in what it perceives, especially with the airway pressure of PAP therapy. So it could be nothing.
That said, on the other hand, a popcorn smell can in some situations be an alert that something electronic in the room is starting to spark or smoke. Old extension cords and cheap power strips that are deteriorating or that have accumulated dust inside them are notorious for giving smell warnings as they become fire hazards. So I wouldn't say it is generally a smell to be ignored.
And rarely, but sometimes, changes in what we smell can have medical significances.
None of the above is my attempt to dismiss or to alarm. It is only me, some guy on the Internet, passing along my personal thoughts and observations.
