Swollen eyes
I wake with swollen eyes after using my bpap. I use an Aircurve 11 with a f30i mask. Mostly my right eye. I wet my fingers to see if I can find leaking air, but can’t find any? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

See an eye doctor to find out what's going on - guessing can be dangerous.

I did see an eye doctor but they offered no suggestions except for using an eye cream to help with the swelling. I’m guessing they’re not familiar with the CPAP machines.

Re: Swollen eyes
I was having a lot of swelling around my eyes while using the AirTouch N20 nasal mask, which rested up on the bridge of my nose. Then I got what the doctor said was early shingles near my eye, and along my nose on my cheek. I am NOT saying the swelling had to do with the shingles. They put me on antivirals and it never broke out in blisters, but that's beside the point, except that the mask became very uncomfortable to wear because the skin was extremely painful to the touch.
So I switched back to a smaller size AirFit which sat lower on my nose away from the sore area. And now there is no swelling. I think the swelling is caused by fluid in the tissues of the face that accumulate while you're prone, but normally your body drains them after you wake and it's just not noticeable (someone in my thread mentioned the lymph drainage system which makes total sense.)
But the medium AirTouch somehow was compressing the drainage in a way the small AirFit is not. Adjusting it to be more loose might have helped but it's moot for me now, I'm not going back to it due to my skin still being uncomfortable.
But looking at your mask, it appears to sit lower on the nose than mine did, nevertheless, do you think it could be the tightness? I found with the AirTouch I had to find that sweet spot between not so tight my eyes swell and not so loose it leaked, and I'm not real sure that spot existed. My conclusion is the swelling is due to the disruption of the normal circulation of the lymph system. Good to have had the eye doctor check it out. Maybe another theory is allergic inflammation to whatever in the machine. The other thing I did was start cleaning my hose and mask a little more often, but I really think it was the mask edge compression.

Re: Swollen eyes
Thank you. I’ll check it out. It takes most of the day for swelling to go down. I have yet to find that connection between to tight and to loose. I started out with a full face mask and switched to the f30i, which also is a full face mask, but doesn’t cover as much as the f30. Truly a lot of trial and error involved in discovering what works best.
