Unable to use my machine because of mask and tube leaks

Post by Mecate13 » Sat Nov 16, 2024 4:24 pm

I have an Airsense 11 auto and a DreamWisp Nasal mask (with cushion) which I really like and have had since August. It's been quite easy to adjust to the machine and I never have problems except a while ago with rainout and that was easily solved. The machine has worked perfectly except for last night. I always check my mask seal and when I did last night the machine indicated that:

1) "high mask leak" adjust your mask
2) "high leak, connect your tubing"

I checked for each one of these problems at least 10 times each and:
plugged and unplugged the hose.
turned off and turned on the machine.
checked the hose and mask
put the mask on without checking mask fit and same thing happened.
took out the cushion and put it back into the mask

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Did you re-seat the water chamber and make sure it was sealed properly?

This MIGHT have something to do with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAs01WRPtGk

My big leaks are always connected to the humidifier seal. If popping the basin out and back in a couple of times doesn’t fix it, try this: take out the basin and look inside the machine. You should see a little gray button at the back. Push it and remove the piece that connects the hose, then pop it back in. Pop the basin back in and see if that fixes it. My equipment supplier suggested that trick and it has pretty much fixed the problem. I’ve had to do it a couple of times in the few weeks I’ve been using the CPAP.

Artsyuno, it worked! As you suggested, I pulled out the little gray connector (outlet connector which connects the air tubing), put it back in and plugged in the water basin, the hooked up the tubing. Thank you so much!!!

LSAT, I looked at the video and there was very good information about how the tube can become dislodged. Thank you.

Yay! Glad that did the trick.
