Weed and Sleep

Post by Air Jordan » Wed Jul 17, 2024 11:29 am

Anyone want to share information? My boyfriend left some gummies with 10 mg THC. He said I should take half of one when I wake up in the middle of the night. Not sure about this.

The middle of the night is not a good time for a bad drug experience. Have you tried gummies before? They're super strong... how high is your weed tolerance? If you're already on the wake-n-bake program then probably not a problem... if you're not a regular ab-user then please try a small piece during the afternoon... and start very, very small... these are not FDA-standardized things. You can be the world's best bong-hitter and take two gummies and have a very bad experience... it's that strong.

While there is a reasonable chance the THC will make you drowsy, this doesn’t seem at first glance like the best way to deal with the problem. Whatever has been waking you up will wake you up again in an hour or two, even with the effects from the gummies. It would be better to figure out if you are waking up due to apnea events, periodic leg movements, outside stimulus (noise, pets, pain, etc.), stress - that sort of thing.

I have tried gummies in the past, and while they didn’t cause any problems, they also provided very little help. Lots of money for little benefit. I am now working with a CBT-I therapist (behavior modification - sleep hygiene) and seeing some positive results.

You didn't state if you're a regular user of weed or not.

Gummies (and weed) come in two basic verities. Indica and Satavia, plus a hybrid of the two.

For most people in general, Indica can make them sleepy while Sativia does not.

I would never recommend eating a gummy in the middle of the night after waking.

Weed and gummies (I don't use gummies) can make one sleepy but for me, it's more of a 'coming down' after effect of the high, being sleepy.

A bad drug experience from 5mg THC? Doubtful.

Gummies and all weed products are standardized here in the great state of Illinois.

That sounds rather kinky!

No thanks.

Weed is legal in Illinois. It's a serious cash crop here!

Smoke em if you got em.

Sigh Maybe some day the "inmates" of Nebraska will be allowed to have the good stuff.
Maybe. Some day.
