Hello all,
I have low AHI (below 1.5 average) but poor deep sleep (groggy and tired throughout the day) and I am thinking about using common supplementation for better deep sleep.
Do any of you have any experience using Magnesium while using CPAP? Are there any issues with using Magnesium while on CPAP therapy?
Also, what other supplementation (Melatonin, Vitamin B6, etc.) have you used to find success with getting more deep sleep, and if you have one, please share your experience below!

Worthless. You already get magnesium in food. If you have a poor diet, read which foods are highest in magnesium.
None of them work. Some have bad unpleasant side effects.
There is no magic pill. Study good sleep hygiene. Practice it.

How do you know you're having inadequate deep sleep, as opposed to inadequate REM or total sleep time?
I'll echo Julie's question: have you had testing for possible medical issues causing you to feel groggy and tired? You might ask your doctor to test for thyroid, testosterone (if you are a man), iron, B vitamins, vitamin D, autoimmune diseases (especially in the connective-tissue-disease family), and Lyme disease.

Happy to answer some of the questions here to try to dial in the right answer!
"Have you seen a doctor? Had any testing?" Yes, I have. I got an in-clinic sleep study and the results showed an AHI of 23.
"Study good sleep hygiene. Practice it." Prior to getting an APAP machine, my sole focus was obtaining good sleep hygiene. My routine comprises of but is not limited to: Keeping a cool room temperature and taking a warm shower an hour before bedtime, exercising 4-5 times a week, sleeping in a fixed sleep schedule, turning off all devices an hour before bed, eating before 6 pm so I am not digesting when I'm heading to bed at 10 PM, not drinking any caffeine and alcohol, and meditating before sleep.
Lastly, I am also not taking any medications.

You seem to have a good sleep hygiene practice. Your charts show good results. Your minimum pressure is set at 5.0. The machine quickly raises the pressure above 5.0. This is an indication that 5.0 min is too low. Many people report that pressures below 6.0 or 7.0 cause a suffocating feeling. You might want to raise your min to 6 or 7 and see how that goes for you.
