Post-sigh apneas
Re: Post-sigh apneas
DreamDiver, are those heartbeats? I thought it was the machine doing little puffs of air to test if you're in obstructive or clear airway apnea.

Doh! You're right. That's FOT. It's the secondary wave that shows the heart beat. Thanks nee! I've edited the original diagram to reflect the correct interpretation.

Re: Post-sigh apneas
Hi,
I dont expect any answer. My son has the same condition. Post-Sigh Central Apnea and it is causing arousals 5-6 per hour.
It is the same with CPAP or without.
He is very tired every morning.
sunnyU did you find any solution for this? Did it just stop happening with increased age? Did you try BIPAP or ASV?
Best regards

Welcome, Seil. This is an old thread, so you're unlikely to get a reply from the people posting earlier.
How old is your son? Is he seeing a sleep doctor or neurologist? And do you know what his central-apnea index is? (That's the number of CAs divided by total time on the PAP machine.) Finally, do you know whether CAs were apparent in his sleep test?
