I read all their instructions carefully and entered the serial number of my machine or looked at a list of serial numbers that they published. I don't recall which.
Might be time to revisit to make sure you are putting in the correct S/N.
You may have missed this post below from the OP.

The machine is indeed on the recall list.

Yes, I did, as I mentioned earlier in this thread.
And don't assume I didn't enter it correctly the first time. If Philips is incapable of listing the actual model numbers and names that are on their machines, they are probably not great at serial numbers either.
