"In the Eye of the Beholder"--the most unforgettable episode of the Twilight Zone.
It also explains what happens when one stares into the mirror too long.
The abyss, as it were . . .
Vanity is shallow, but the depth of the psyche cannot be measured.

If you're worried about this, why not keep track of it? You could take a closeup photo of your nose weekly or whatever and over time compare them. You'd have to make sure you are in the exact same position, same lighting and so on every time. I think that once you have a track record of pictures to compare, it could set your mind at ease.

I think this is kinda wierd. I have a P10 nasal pillow mask and haven't noticed anything different about my nose. I use a medium. But I suppose it could happen.

No.
As an adult, the cartilage in your nose has stopped growing long ago.
These tissues also have remarkable shape memory,
as some who have undergone rhinoplasty have discovered to their dismay--months later.

The only thing that can change its shape is age, surgery or an accident.

I suspect severe body dysphoria, where a vivid imagination and a mirror
multiplies a person's own denial that they need cpap.
If it were indeed true, it would still be
100% WORTH IT.

Re: Suspecting long term Nasal Pillow use alters nose shape?
A long, long time ago there was a persistent troll here insisting that the nasal pillows were elongating his nares and in illustration he posted some creepy black and white photo from the internet showing a guy with nares that had to be 1.5 inches long.
Don't be that person. Nasal pillows do not belong UP your nose, they fit lightly against the outside. If that's all it took to remodel your cartilage you'd be able to spot nasal pillow users at 10 paced for their pig noses.

When your a kid your nose is way different from how it is as a adult. I still think that it could happen over time. Im not doubting this thought even though it seems kinda silly.

Re: Suspecting long term Nasal Pillow use alters nose shape?
The appearance of noses changes as part of natural aging. Cosmetic surgeons earn boatloads of loot from those changes.
Blaming CPAP masks for those changes does not make it so.

I found this forum because I was googling the same question. My nose shape has changed since I started using the CPAP. I’ve used it nightly for the past 8 or so years and my nostrils are much more visible than they used to be. I am now looking into buying a different type of mask that won’t press against my nostrils.

Both images-----UGLY!
Sorry, nature has not been kind. (to any of us)
At some point most of us tend to avoid being photographed.
Just a word to the wise.
I let the bullfrog install all the mirrors in the house.
He puts them just high enough that they no longer distress me.

Re: Suspecting long term Nasal Pillow use alters nose shape?
I'm thinking only if one either cinches it up way too tight over a long period of time or their nares were very small to start. Just my experience, but my once slotted nares are now just slightly oval-ish and I'm happy about that. Been using nasal pillows masks since 2005 and it took until the last few years to see the difference. Always felt my nares were abnormal, just two slits and narrower than the tips of the cushions that sit just inside the nose.. Was envious of anyone who could flares their nostrils, and now I can! If not for my particular anatomy, I don't think think I'd have seen any change.
