Neck brace

Post by Topcat » Tue May 09, 2023 10:37 am

Hi all,

I have been struggling with getting used to cpap over the last year and am now debating using a soft collar instead. Has anyone had a good time just using a neck brace/ soft collar

can you define what you mean by struggling?

if we can get more info from you, we'd be better able to help. if you'd like, you can start by telling what machine and what mask.

please see here to help get you started-

i can almost guarantee you aren't going to fix your sleep apnea by using a collar instead of your machine.

good luck!
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

INSTEAD of cpap?
I do NOT recommend it!

That would not be at all effective.
Some wear a collar to hold their jaw up WHILE using cpap.
Without cpap, there is no treatment.

Using a soft cervical collar at the suggestion of those on this board, my leak rate and events recorded by my equipment dropped substantially.

Same here, plus (the biggie) it allows me to sleep all night on my back with no increase in AHI.
