Suggestion for clock change this weekend
Suggestion for clock change this weekend
As you know, the clocks will change in most of the US, Canada, and lots of other places.
I suggest that you set the Sunday morning wake-up time for one hour later than usual, thus waking up at your "normal" time. If you still need to adjust the clock manually, do so before going to bed Saturday night.
Sunday night go to sleep at your regular time (according to the clock) and set your usual wake-up time.
Better to carve the hour out of your daytime than loose an hour of sleep!

I've decided it will be simpler to apply to U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for permit to permanently reside on Palmyra Atoll. Should be pretty straightforward. No DST to worry about there. Probably some good fishing too.D.H. wrote: ↑Thu Mar 09, 2023 4:28 pmAs you know, the clocks will change in most of the US, Canada, and lots of other places.

Most of our clocks will reset themselves.
The atomic clicks will reset on the wrong day, needing to be set twice
Thanks, Washington!

My goodness, what a friendly place this is!

Re: Suggestion for clock change this weekend
Who sets an alarm for Sunday morning? Our dogs are the 'alarm clocks' in our house and they care very little for what the clock says, even less for DST. One of the many advantages to being retired.D.H. wrote: ↑Thu Mar 09, 2023 4:28 pmAs you know, the clocks will change in most of the US, Canada, and lots of other places.

If you'd wasted as much of YOUR time trying to refute stupid things that DH posted, you might be less kindly disposed.FifthAvenue wrote: ↑Fri Mar 10, 2023 5:08 amWhat purpose does PR's comment serve, other than being mean spirited?palerider wrote: ↑Thu Mar 09, 2023 10:56 pmAlas, I keep hoping that you've forgotten how to log in, and yet, you're always coming back, like a bad smell.D.H. wrote: ↑Thu Mar 09, 2023 4:28 pmAs you know, the clocks will change in most of the US, Canada, and lots of other places.

Exactly why I am hopping a tramp steamer headed for permanent residence on Palmyra Atoll.

Re: Suggestion for clock change this weekend
Some folks do go to Sunday school and/or church on Sundays. And this Sunday for us will be extra early (in addition to losing an hour with the time change), since we have to be at church earlier than usual. My husband and I both work from home part time and there are only a couple other days, in addtion to Sunday, that we have to set alarms. The rest are flexible to get up so don't really need it. (I've never cared for DST and wish they would end it.)

For us ASPS, other than daylight relatively earlier in the day, just a nuisance resetting clocks (or in many cases, they're accurate again)(or in many other cases, get the Post-It Note saying don't use this one).
Freeze this moment a little bit longer.
Make each sensation a little bit stronger.
