Good tear down video.

BTW another source for parts is a quiet uses AirSense 10 or AirCurve 10. The model doesn't matter, the parts are all the same.
Thanks!

So, you used a recalled because of cancer causing VOCs and shredding foam machine to feed the AC10? *blink blink* Ok, sure.

At least you're using (multiple?) anti bacterial filters, which will reduce the amount of air considerably.
The CPAP I'm using to supply clean air is an old Respironics Remstar auto, which as I understand has never been recalled, only the Dreamstation1 was recalled: https://www.philips.com/c-dam/corporate ... o-date.pdf
(And I've never used ozone on anything.)
The 2 inline filters are only in the cpap clean air feed(in & out, just because), pressure impact is not an issue, it just provides a slightly higher than ambient clean air locality at the A10 inlet.

You can also use a quiet S9, since the blower is the same.

You might want to re-think the "only DreamStation1 models were recalled" thought.

The System One models (both 50 series and 60 series) were also part of the recalled units.

Only the M Series and older machines weren't part of the recall.

I love seeing this. ifixit.com is one of my favorite websites and this video is right in line with that. The right to repair your own goods is I think important and freeing. Something like this video and the knowledge that the parts are essentially the same is very important. I dont have a 10 but thanks for the education all the same.

(ifixit allowed me to take apart and rebuild many an iphone so I really love this stuff!)

Unfortunately, you understand wrong. *EVERYTHING* that Philips Respironics has made (for the home market, and some) since 2010 has been recalled.

I called Resmed to see what they could do, I assumed the device has a 2 year warranty.
They said I had to go through the equipment provider, as Resmed cannot interact directly with patients.
I called the provider, they said the device really only had a 1 year warranty, and they declined to contact Resmed for help, as in their experience Resmed will not do anything.
The best the provider could do is sell me a new device, at my expense, which I declined.

So I'm stuck with this "mechanically challenged" Resmed bipap device for another 3 years under Medicare rules.
I just hope it's delivering the prescribed pressure profiling in its noisy and questionable condition.
I understand that you are past the warranty period. I understand that you want to try to fix this thing.

If Medicare paid for this and you want to give Resmed another shot at this contact the Medicare Advocate for your state, each state has one. Explain what happened and see if there is something they can do for you. https://www.shiphelp.org/

I seem to recall that dealers that accept Medicare also can be required to repair cpap past the warranty period (until the 5yr mark) and the dealer would be required to supply a spare cpap during the repair period. But they often will take a month or so to provide this backup. But you seem to have spares laying around you can also use should that need arise.

So if you are up for it - give it a go.
How to get help in your area
The Medicare Beneficiary Ombudsman works with organizations like State Health
Insurance Assistance Programs (SHIPs). SHIPs are state programs that provide free
local health insurance counseling to people with Medicare and national Medicare
beneficiary advocacy organizations to make sure your issues are resolved. These
organizations provide information, counseling, and assistance with:
• Your Medicare questions, including your benefits, coverage, premiums,
deductibles, and coinsurance
• Medicare grievances (complaints)
• Appeals (if you disagree with a coverage or payment decision made by Medicare
or your Medicare plan)
• Problems joining or leaving a Medicare Advantage Plan (like an HMO or PPO)
or any other Medicare health plan or Medicare Prescription Drug Plan

You can find the phone number for your state’s SHIP by visiting
Medicare.gov/contacts or by calling 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227).
TTY users should call 1-877-486-2048.
For more information
• Visit Medicare.gov and select “Claims & Appeals” to get information
about how to get your Medicare questions and complaints handled.
• Visit Medicare.gov and select “File a complaint” under “Forms, Help,
& Resources” to submit feedback about your Medicare health plan or
prescription drug plan directly to Medicare.
• Call 1-800-Medicare.

State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP)

SHIPs are state programs that get money from the federal government to give local health insurance counseling to people with Medicare. SHIPs aren’t connected to any insurance company or health plan. They provide free, personalized counseling to you and your family to help with these and other Medicare questions:

Your Medicare rights
Billing problems
Complaints about your medical care or treatment
How Medicare works with other insurance
Finding help paying for your health care costs

Most here aren't.
I used it once against Apria and was extremely successful.
Had a legal hearing with an excellent SHIP Atty representing me - No Charge.

Admittedly I didn’t read all that they do (very sleep, sorry).

I'm sure they do. My experience was only with cpap but I would think anything Medicare covers would be covered.

Thanks very much for that info! I did contact Resmed about this before the 2 year warranty expiration, and they gave me a case number, that should be good enough evidence for Medicare to pursue resolution with Resmed.
