CPAP Tubing Wrap recommendations

Post by Schwarzwaldmaedel » Wed Dec 28, 2022 12:04 pm

I'm needing to purchase tubing wrap. I've been woken up too often by cold tubing. Is there a type and brand someone would like to recommend? Thank you.

My wife and I both have hose covers from Padacheek. We are very happy with them.

Why not a heated hose?

Thank you all for your suggestions. I'll look into Padacheek.I don't use heated tubing, because it warms me up too much, and aggravates my temperature deregulation issues.

Whereas, I'm a cheapskate. (Much worse than Zonker, even.) So I generally get whatever is cheapest on Amazon at the time: I mean, it's either that, or duct tape, right? :D

If you are bothered by the hose being too cold and sometimes too warm then a heated hose is a far better solution than a hose cozy.

A cozy doesn't allow you to change the temperature and you can still find it too warm or cold. With a (ResMed) heated hose you can set the hose temperature. Find a temperature your comfortable with and then it will be the same.

I agree with Dogslobber.
Resmed's heated hoses are thermostatically controlled.
Mine stays at the same setting year-round.
It likely never kicks on when the room is hot.

Thank you, Lazarus! It's worth trying, especially for $9 with free shipping. I appreciate the recommendation. This way, the hose itself won't be cold, nor will it wake me up anymore with its unpleasant noise as it moves across my dresser when I toss and turn. Excellent!

Any time. And you are very welcome.

I use something similar, myself.

To me, heated hoses feel heavy.

Curious now how much heavier a heated hose is compared to unheated and a cozy.

Not sure I would change tho because I need the humidity.

I keep the temp and humidity fairly steady year-round in my home, so I am able accurately to dial in my treatment humidity well enough with no rain out by using a lightweight cover on a regular nonheated ResMed SlimLine hose for my AS10:

But I haven't tried heated tubing since way back in my S9 days, and the AS11 heated tubing might feel light-years better to me, for all I know. So don't go by me.

After some searching it appears they don’t even make an unheated hose for as11.

so there ya go.
