Aura

You have me very interested. Can this be used with a 420E?
Hope so...........
Does anyone have one?
Does anyone think it'll be more comfy than say the Breeze? I don't find that comfy.....?

The Aura should be fine with the 420E. After all, the Puritan Bennett 420E was designed for compatibility with any mask, as far as I know. Certainly was designed to work fine with Puritan Bennett's Breeze, which, like the Aura, has a narrow diameter connector hose and nasal pillows.

If it was just the harder headgear and/or tugging upward sometimes on the nostrils that you didn't like about the Breeze, you might like the Aura better. It addressed those things. The Aura definitely has a less obtrusive feel at the nostrils. One could even sleep face down with the nasal parts smushed into a soft foam head pillow and be comfortable with the Aura. That kind of sleeping manuever would be most uncomfortable with either the Breeze's nasal shell or the Swift's rigid cylinder pushing on the nose/upper lip.

Last week I ordered an Aura from cpap.com, and they anticipated it would be back-ordered until end of the month. Just got an email that it shipped today!! Yay!!!! Can't wait to get it! (Until then, I'm getting along fine with my Activa and Swift...)

I'm so excited about today's delivery! Wonder if I can go out and chase down the UPS truck in transit?!?!?! I just know that with Ted, Wader, RG and all of the others posting such great reviews about this new mask, it has to be a real winner!!!!!

Ahhhhhhh.....It's Christmas Time in March............we sound like a bunch of kids ............"My Aura " is also coming today. I keep hearing truck noises out front............"Hold on .........Let me check to see if it's the UPS truck"............................................................ No luck....just the garbage truck

I know I know! The Aura's coming today and it's driving me nuts as I'm stuck in Seattle working on the boat and won't get back to "the ranch" east of the mountains until Friday afternoon where it's being delivered. At least Larry The UPS Man knows where to put it. Right on, RG, I do like to switch back and forth between masks. Hubby just has an Activa, and I think he's eyeballing my Swift to use occasionally as soon as I get MY new Aura. Hmmm, picture us fighting over masks? Looking forward to hearing everyone's comments about their new Auras

OK, all you Aura Fanatics. I am counting on all of you to let me know how you "love" it as I want to order one too. Right now I have the Activa and Swift but don't use the Swift (too noisey for me even with netting).

Can I use it with the ResMed Auto Respond? The Swift has a narrow hose and it worked fine when I did use it but didn't someone say that the Aura was not for "Autopap"?????

Now, don't any of you chasing that UPS truck get run over before you get to try the new "Aura".

I was told by my sleep clinic techs it could not be used with a ResMed AutoSet Spirit. I would assume the same for the Respond.

I think rested gal has tested out the aura (and many other narrow tube interfaces) with the Spirit she has and has had good results. Maybe she will confirm that for us.

I think RG has the Respironics Auto C-Flex thingy doo with the Res Med Masks and the Breeze. Maybe I am wrong. How about it Rested Gal?

Lab rat that I am, I've now used 4 different autopaps (and with software for each):

Puritan Bennett GoodKnight 420E auto
Respronics REMstar auto (before C-Flex was added)
Respironics REMstar auto with C-Flex
ResMed Autoset Spirit

All gave me equally good treatment. My favorite is the Remstar Auto with C-Flex, simply because I like the C-Flex feature. Actually, I never had a problem breathing out against pressure, but the C-Flex just makes it feel more like "normal" breathing out.

I've used quite a few "narrow diameter connector hose" interfaces with all those machines. All worked fine for me with the machines.

Yes, I did try the Aura (and the Breeze and the Swift and the Activa) with the Spirit. No problem.

I must have missed those other machines along the way. Wow, you are an authority on this for sure and very much appreciated by all of us.

So, when I can, I will order it and try it myself. I would not mind trying other machines too but right now I cannot but will in the future.

Besides being a "Lab Rat" gives you so many choices to choose from.

For Rested Gal and other dual users,

Probably a dumn question - but is there any noticeable difference with Cflex on the exhalation using the various types of masks? I have the Activa (nasal mask) and was wondering what the air flow feeling is like compared to a pillow system (narrow tubing) or even a full face mask.

I'm just a novice and looking for another mask for backup. The only thing I have to compare with is the one used in the titration test and it just seemed to blow air on my nose the whole time. My Activa is a whole different feeling which is much more comfortable.

Any thoughts?
