OT: On the Care and Feeding of Stalkers

Post by Rubicon » Wed Nov 09, 2022 6:25 am

So recently, and through no fault of my own, I have come into possession of a couple of stalkers (Tec5 and dataq1) whom have taken an extraordinary interest in my personal life: Ewww!

While perhaps I should be flattered, OTOH I think it's a little creepy.

Be that as it may, I need some advice from anyone who has been in a similar situation. Specifically:
  • Am I responsible to see that they are fed?
  • That their vaccines are up to date?
  • That they have Green Cards?
  • If I do above, can I claim them as dependents on my tax return?
  • Is it recommended that they be spayed to avoid unwanted stalker pregnancies?
  • If I take them outside, do they need to be kept on a leash?
  • If they "do their business" at the Dog Park (assuming they're allowed at the Dog Park), can I use the provided Doggie Poop Bags or are there specific Stalker Poop Bags that I need to use?
TIA for any help or advice!

Which is why I don't want to share my data.

Regarding dog parks, don't let them off leash or you may be liable for any damages. Best to keep them chained up.

dataq1 and Tec5 have demonstrated themselves to be dishonest and untrustworthy numerous times.

Nope. You're not responsible to see that they're fed.

In all honesty, I'd suggest a bit of starvation. Don't feed the trolls and sometimes---ok, more honestly occasionally---they'll go away, or at least leave you alone, after being starved for a bit.

CAUTION...."colorful" language below and if such offends you...stop reading and move on right now.

  How about "rarely" they will go away once starved?

To everyone::::

Part of the problem is we simply have some forum members who just love to go poking the trolls/troublemakers and someone once said that any press is good even if it is bad press. Trolls just want attention and it really doesn't matter if the attention is good or bad...either will feed them a good meal to sustain them. Attention seekers....good or bad attention it doesn't really matter.

Not to mention sometimes the outlandish comments meant to start trouble are so out there that they just can't go unchallenged because of the risk of someone (think newbie) not knowing any better and they go believing the bullshit being dished out.

For the most part I bite my fingertips bloody to avoid feeding troublemakers but sometimes I type with bloody fingers and clean up the keyboard later.

Yes...I could ban troublemakers but it's so easy to come back under a different ID that it actually makes more work for me.
When banned people come back under a new name I have to do double duty watching out for assholes and it's just easier watching a known asshole. The devil I know is always preferable to the devil I don't know.

I wish there was an easy fix but unfortunately I haven't found one yet. It's the internet and a public forum and trolls and troublemakers are just annoyances that come with the territory.
Don't feed them when they are just trying to stir up trouble.
Correct blatant incorrect information when it occurs.
Silently tell them to go fuck off if you wish. You guys have no idea how many times I have said that in my head.

I put them on my Foe list...it's a very extensive list too.
Then I configured my Foe list so that I simply don't get any PMs that anyone sends me that happens to be on the Foe list....which is easy to do BTW. I never, ever get a chance to read what they might say to me in a PM and that way I am not tempted to tell them to go fuck off in a PM which I would probably end up doing.
Most of the time the only way I see what these trolls write is when someone quotes them or someone sends me a PM alert to what is going on.

IGNORE the troublemakers if at all possible....maybe...just maybe they will get bored when they get starved enough they will move on to another forum where they get to try to cram their self appointed moralities down someone else's throats.
Eventually they will get tired of talking only to themselves.

So those of you who like to go poking trolls....please don't do it. All it does is create a bigger headache for the rest of us.

I know it's hard....trust me...I understand but please try to "DON'T FEED THE TROLLS"...

And BTW...each one of us gets to decide if we rank someone a troll or not.

If all you have to do here is play with a punching bag I will send you some new fishing lures to go play with.
Your time is better spent in really maybe helping someone instead of punching their lights out and telling them to go take a flying fucking leap somewhere.

They aren't worth it...
Use your precious time in a more productive manner.....but then I do understand where you are coming from.
You are a lot like I am....it's really hard to keep mouth shut and not go shouting an ungodly amount of profanities at them.
I want to take that proverbial 2 X 4 to the sides of their fucking heads.

That HRV block in snoozebunny is impressive. It could be a block of PLMs during the only period in which she actually sleeps (note original complaint is insomnia).

However, with a POS Type III Study all we got is WAGs.

Here's my advice.
First recognize that they have NOT taken an interest in your personal life, rather, they have taken interest in your professional life.(personal life would be creepy, but professional not so much)

Second, use of vulgar personal attacks does not burnish your character, it only inflames the circumstance.

Lastly, the whole discussion could have been avoided by truthfulness, specifically if you have no professional qualifications, it would have been very easy to say so to Ozij and Tec5 when the issue came up. OTOH, if you do have professional qualifications in the sleep field and choose not to admit that, just say so. (better than saying that you are a 'murderer for hire' )

You are welcome.

Maybe the stalkers are tuning up for politics.
Stirring the pot can be quite profitable, as we have seen.

My 2 cents.

When I first arrived at this forum, I was misled a few times by a few who tried to sound official with their pronouncements.

Occasionally Mr. Rubicon has no choice but to point out misinformation and misinformers. I'm personally glad he is in a position to do that, even when he does so with me. And I'm glad he doesn't do it by flashing some virtual badge and heralding his own credentials, since people who do that on forums show themselves to be insecure posers, and he isn't that. He does not hide his experience, but he seems to me to realize that making that experience his actual online identity would be tantamount to running afoul of the spirit of the forum agreement about medical relationships, etc.

Just to parse the apples and oranges, personally identifying data is not to be solicited here, according to user agreement. OSCAR data and medical data without personal identifiers is a different matter in every respect. That is rightly asked for from anyone expecting specific help that first does no harm. It is a public forum on meaningful medical matters, and making direct suggestions or observations involving the details of a person's PAP therapy without being told the actual data of someone's PAP therapy is like asking a good pilot to fly blindfolded and withouts comms. Gotta know where you are and where you are going or it's best to just stay on the ground.

And as for privacy concerns and preventing stalkers, only an ignorant poster would use his own photo as an avatar and then post links that contain his real name. That's simply asking for trouble!

Oh. Wait. I'll be right back.

As for being a hit man, I think "former hit man" may be more accurate. Although his greatest hits album is certainly golden and has a snappy beat you can dance to.
