A Love Song to an APAP?

Post by lazarus » Mon Nov 07, 2022 5:28 pm

So what kind of messed up dude would ever attempt to write a sincere, heartfelt love song to his PAP machine?

Only the kind of guy who obviously needs some serious professional help!:

Thanks, Julie. But let's all hope that's my one and only attempt at an OSA/PAP song.

Beware the schoolyard bullies, mean girls, and fragile male egos. Move along if you can’t be kind.

These days, I think most people here use OSCAR to get those.

I guess I could always consider using Disco Duck as a loose template . . .

Absolutely wonderful.
Is it OK to ask for the words? The brought tears to my eyes.

The grouch before OSCAR.

Thank you. And sure. Anything for you, ozij:

The Beautiful Machine (I'll Never Drown in My Dreams) by Lazarus

I didn't know I was drowning
Fighting to breathe while asleep
Stuck in the shallows gasping
Never reaching the deep

Until the truth was unmasked by the masking
Life was saved so it seems
By positive pressure and breathing
So I'll never drown in my dreams

Now every night is a blessing
For the wakefulness daylight can bring
And now every day has new meaning
As all of my loved ones have seen

And I always knew air was life-giving
And now I have this song to sing
Thankful to be with the living
And this simple but beautiful machine

Were/are you a pro singer now hiding in your mask, but whom we would have heard of in the past?

Thanks for asking, Julie. But no.

The larger industry (when it existed, anyway) never looked attractive to me, and when I have performed with lower-level pros, I have been careful never to accept reimbursement beyond my travel/performing expenses, in order to maintain a strict amateur status to keep it fun.

I come from an Eastern Kentucky Appalachian mountain tradition in which nearly everyone plays and performs publicly. Within that tradition, I can hold my own if I have to, but I would certainly not be considered a standout talent by any stretch.

I think a few times people HAVE offered me money NOT to perform in public, though. So that may be an idea for stopping me from posting any more songs here!
