CPAP & Power in Canada
Quick questions regarding CPAP and power in Canada vs. U.S.
1. Is power the same in Canada as in the U.S. (120V and 60HZ)?
2. Is it the same electrical outlet or is an adapter needed when traveling there from the U.S.?
I know current CPAPs can handle various voltages but I am wondering if I need a different adapter and/or if an extension cord from the U.S. will work in Canada or if I need to buy one there (if they have different voltage or run on different hertz).
Thanks!

Re: CPAP & Power in Canada
having just returned yesterday from canada, i can attest that you don't need to do anything different. same power, same outlet and yes an extension cord from the good ol' usa works fine.bayareacpap wrote: ↑Mon Oct 31, 2022 12:31 pmQuick questions regarding CPAP and power in Canada vs. U.S.

Here in Canada, we use Metric electricity, while the US uses Imperial.
You will need a turbo encabulator to convert from metric electrons to imperial.

Aaaaactually, we don't use imperial...Dog Slobber wrote: ↑Mon Oct 31, 2022 5:44 pmHere in Canada, we use Metric electricity, while the US uses Imperial.
The imperial gallon is 20% larger than the US gallon.
In 1824 the British adapted the Imperial measure in which the gallon is based on 10 pounds or 277.42 cubic inches of water. The Americans had adopted a system where a gallon was comprised of 231 cubic inches of water.

If this isn’t rocket science why are there so many spaceshots?

Due to supply chain issues, the turbo encabulator is no longer going to be manufactured.
Anyone needing one is encouraged to order as many as possible within the next 30 days.

Re: CPAP & Power in Canada
Actually, water does runs counter-clockwise in the Southern Hemisphere (Argentina, Australia, Chile, Peru, South Africa, etc.). However, that does not apply to Canada.zonker wrote: ↑Mon Oct 31, 2022 6:01 pmDog Slobber wrote: ↑Mon Oct 31, 2022 5:44 pmHere in Canada, we use Metric electricity, while the US uses Imperial.

The electric is the same, the telephone jacks are the same, your cell phone will word there (but watch out for roaming charges). You can use a US extension cord and/or surge protector there. Conversely, if you buy anything that plugs in there, you can bring it home and use it in the U.S.
