My Oscar Chart - Would like some opinions

Post by GSPlover » Tue Oct 18, 2022 6:49 pm

Good afternoon All.

I have been using my Resmed Autosense 10 now for 4 years. I was diagnosed with UARS, and feel a lot better than before. Now I would like to fine tune my sleep. To be honest I only ever went to the sleep doctor to get a prescription and never went back. My min pressure has pretty much always been around 8 to 14. I wanted to see if there was any difference in the mask that I wear , so in this chart

Sun, Oct 16 : I am wearing my Airtouch F20
Mon, Oct 17: I am wearing my AirFit N30i

I prefer my full face mask to be honest.

https://sleephq.com/account/teams/egOrl ... 2022-10-16

Those are the only 2 days I have so far. I also wanted to ask if anyone else wakes up randomly at night. I find myself waking up at the smallest sounds then going back to sleep. I used to take my mask off while asleep but now it's on my face but I have always woken up at night. A lot of times my hand will be completely asleep, and I wake up in a panic. This happens maybe 2x a week. I would like to know if my chart looks better with what mask. As far as how I feel , I feel better with my full face mask on,. Thanks for your time.

I think you have to "Share" your page.
Freeze this moment a little bit longer.
Make each sensation a little bit stronger.
Experience slips away.

And I would ask for a referral for a cervical (neck) x-ray or CT scan to see why your hand goes to sleep.

Your minimum pressure settings have varied between 8 and 14 ?

welcome to the zoo!

yes, i've been at this for seven years. i still wake up through the night. every person who sleeps does. however, mostly you don't notice it. i'm hoping that it doesn't take you long to go back to sleep. this should clear up for most people as they grow used to the therapy.

you may want to try a noise generator to mask those disturbing sounds. here's the one i use-https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JU8P8VY?re ... hite+noise

good luck!

Nothing horribly exciting on those 2 night's reports.

How are you sleeping and feeling?

I don't see any urgent need to go changing something as long as you are sleeping good and feeling good.

A bit of terminology confusion...your settings are 8.4 minimum with a maximum of 12 (which you barely kiss briefly one night only of the 2 you posted).
We don't refer to those settings as both being the minimum though effectively that is what is happening.
The way you first mentioned it made us think that the minimum pressure setting itself actually varied....like one night the minimum might be 8.4 and the next night 9.0 or 10.2 or 11.0 or minimum of 12 which with the max of 12 would of course make it a fixed pressure setting.

I apologize for the confusion - still reading the stickies and getting accustomed.

As far as sleep goes - Last night I slept with earbuds in and slept great - probably woke up once. I guess I just wanted some expert opinions on whether or not my charts seem a little off. Maybe more extensive data would help (2-3 weeks worth). I'm definitely feeling 99% better than I used to but I wanted to make sure I am optimizing everything I can. Also I did not think about the CAT scan for the neck as far as my arm falling asleep. I will look into that.

no apology needed. you are reading and learning. you'd be surprised at how many we get here who don't.

something to bear in mind is that each of our cpap journeys are different. there are over arching tips that apply across the spectrum. so you will have something unique along the way. not to worry. we can help as there are many of us here.

good luck!

Since you felt pretty good last night, why not post that so we can compare to the others?

If you ever wanted to, you can post a trend chart for whatever period you like. You do it kind of the same way you did these other two. Open what you want to share on the screen (there is a pull down menu upper left to select timeframe you want to look at.) Once you have it open, follow the line to the right to the three dots and select share, copy link, and post here.

We can hover over specific days to see what your AHI, usage statistics, etc were.

On paper it doesnt matter what it looks like, if you are feeling good and rested. (within reason of course)

PS can you add your machine and mask to your user profile?

IMO your sleep continuity looks a little suspect.

IDK if I'd jump on the CAT scan just yet, especially if those symptoms only occur occasionally at night (and they'd do a plain ol' X-ray first anyway). If the numbness disappears within a minute or two it's probably circulation and IIWM I'd just do position therapy.

Keep up the good work asking questions!

I am about a week behind you (2nd night tonight) and following the discussion. I’ve had several failed attempts at this but have lost 25 lbs or so and my max pressure has dropped from 18 to 12 which I hope is going to make acclimation easier.
