OTC long acting nasal decongestant

Post by JeffH » Tue Jan 23, 2007 9:22 am

What's the best long acting over the counter nasal decongestant? One that would work all night?

Thanks

Hey Jeff,

I had great luck with Afrin NO-Drip Extra Moisturizing 12 hour spray. Just remember, don't use it longer than 3 nights in a row.
Have a great day!

Mary

I tried that and ended up more congested. I have a deviated septum, so I don't know if that is having an effect, but I ended up more congested in my sleep.

Used breathe right strips for years.

then you need to bite the bullet and see an ENT to get the deviated septum fixed. A spray isn't going to correct that.

I think you are right.

Anyone else hooked on Afrin other than me?? Quitting smoking was easier than getting off the spray. I know the pitfalls, but everytime I quit I always go back after a few months of not being able to breathe.

Have you tried using a steroidal decongestant?
