So I have nothing to add except an interesting note. I did take a class about research. A scary high percentage of published papers were done incorrectly when setting up the study and no one caught it, they were published. It's close to 50% just failed to support the conclusions they claimed. The research was done incorrectly.

Tossing published papers back and forth at each other is useless unless you are willing to do the statistics and see if they were even done correctly. White papers are not even research and are just what one person with a degree thinks, they may be correct or not. Without validated research behind a white paper, they are only good for interesting conversations.

Remember there were research and white papers published that claimed cigarettes were good for your health.

I did a google search on "study that says research papers are inaccurate". This turned up a number of links. Top of this list was this one:

The opening two paragraphs read as follows:

I had read this claim previously. But it raises the question: if half of publish research papers have incorrect or unsupported conclusions, then how much reliance can be placed on the conclusions drawn in the paper that says this?

After getting my CPAP machine I also purchased a so clean too machine, which cost a pretty penny! But I'm noticing that slime is still accumulating in my water chamber after several days. I'm wondering if I need to go back to weekly vinegar soakings? I assume that that with the soclean machine I would no longer need to do that. Anyone else using the soclean machine? How does it work for you?

It's a scam, a rip-off and the ozone is dangerous to you and your machine - do a 'search' here on it and see what comes up!

If you can still get your money back, do it!

SoClean uses ozone and ozone is incompatible with many materials and can cause damage to your CPAP. Damage caused by ozone will nt be covered under warranty.

Send it back, it is not necessary.

I think you have 30 days to get your money back, maybe its more?

The slime comes from the minerals in the tap water and air drying. Either wipe it with a towel or use distilled or both.

Since my hose and chamber will get wet again I don't bother with drying but I do use distilled. But I do like to keep both closed to the room air.

A tip from years ago from this forum, have been using it for years in Resmed humdifiers, and it works great at cleaning slime and avoidin it:
Denture cleaning tabs.

I also find that where I live, (which means water quality, and whatever is in the air) emptying the humidifier daily helps keep it cleaner. Using distilled water was not enough.
So: I empty daily, let it airdry, and use denture cleaning tab about once a week or two.
