Problem with leakage SOLVED!!
If this is helpful to anyone, I must share. After a few months of my nasal pillows not sealing (I use the Opus 360 nasal pillow mask by Fisher Pykell) and changing out all equipment to try and resolve leaking issues, I was about to throw in the towel. I had even tried the Max Pillow Soft product but it did not work for me. Then one day I read an article about scuba divers and how they experienced leakage with their face masks under water. The article referenced a product they use called “Trident Mask Seal”. It is a silicone based gel that comes in a tube that looks like chapstick. This product is made of silicone so it won’t degrade my equipment. I ordered the product from Amazon referencing Product #LP95and it works like a charm. I have been using it for a month and my leaking issues have stopped. Just thought I would share this info I. Hope it will help someone else.

Re: Problem with leakage SOLVED!!
This is good to know! I have mild to moderate apnea, and I've been on CPAP (AirSense 10 Auto) for over a year at a very low pressure (4.0) using an AirFit N20 mask. I never had any leakage issues until last month when my pressure was increased to 8.7. Since then, my N20 has been leaking like crazy, or so myAir would have me believe. (I replaced my headgear and cushion.) This morning I checked my machine, and it said my leak rate was 19. When I checked myAir, it said my leak rate was over 30! Is myAir that badly inaccurate with ALL its numbers? I'm going to try a chin strap, and if that isn't good enough, I'll switch to a full-face mask (AirFit F30.) Anyway, good to know about the mask sealant.

On your machine where were you getting the 19 L/min numbers? Was it a 30 day average (which the machine defaults to) or a single night?Sleepy in CT wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 12:47 pmThis morning I checked my machine, and it said my leak rate was 19. I suggest you use OSCAR and see what the leak numbers really are.

Hi, Pugsy! If I COULD use OSCAR I would, but it's not available for Android. (Love your profile pic!)

My avatar is my little Pug Sarge. I lost him to sudden heart issues a few years ago. I still miss him every day.Sleepy in CT wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 9:06 pmHi, Pugsy! If I COULD use OSCAR I would, but it's not available for Android. (Love your profile pic!)![]()
He was totally devoted to me.
Bummer...can't use OSCAR...so answer the question....when you go into the clinical menu area to see the detailed data the machine may be showing you a 30 day average which would explain the difference between the MyAir report and what you see on the machine screen.
Also what you see on the machine screen is what we call a 95% number and that means you were AT OR BELOW that number for 95% of the night. It is NOT an overall average and it is NOT where you spent 95% of the night.
Normally the machine's number for one night will match up real close to the MyAir numbers which makes me wonder if you are seeing a 30 day average of 95% numbers and that would/could explain the difference.
You can change the 30 day parameter to 1 day or 1 week if you wish but just remember that anytime the machine loses power when it powers back up it will go back to the 30 day default.
Explained in the manual.

Switching to a smaller cushion helped my leak rate with the N-20 to go down.Sleepy in CT wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 12:47 pmThis is good to know! So sorry about Sarge. I lost my pug, Billy, in 2011. He was 15+ and I had him for 14+ years. He was my "velcro" dog. I'd have another pug in a heartbeat!
Anyway, I think you're right about the 30-day number. I checked my machine again this morning, and it said 20; myAir said 25, so at least that was closer. I'm a natural nose breather, but with the higher pressure I've been getting a dry mouth with my nasal mask, which I never got before, so I'm going to try using a chin strap. (I don't use the humidifier.) If that doesn't work, although it *should,* unless I find it too confining, then I'll go with the AirFit F30 mask.
Re: Problem with leakage SOLVED!!
it MIGHT work, i'm not sure on the particulars as i haven't tried it myself. link here-Sleepy in CT wrote: ↑Sun Jun 05, 2022 11:46 amYes, it is.zonker wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 9:38 pmby any chance, is that android running on chromebook?Sleepy in CT wrote: ↑Sat Jun 04, 2022 9:06 pmHi, Pugsy! Re: Problem with leakage SOLVED!!
Pugsy, I set my machine's data collection from one month to one day, now my machine and myAir numbers are pretty much match up.

Re: Problem with leakage SOLVED!!
Yep! Finally solved my leakage problem, too. Ever since my pressure was increased last month, I've had an issue with high leakage numbers (25-30+) which I'd never had before. I'm a natural nose breather and use a nasal mask (AirFit N20). The only thing I could think of was that, at some point during the night, my mouth would open and air would escape so I ordered a chinstrap from Amazon and wore it last night for the first time. VOILA! My leak rate went from 30 to ZERO and, wearing a chinstrap was a lot more comfortable than I thought it would be. Now, if I could just feel awake and rested during the day I'd be golden.
