where would this kind of information be published? ResMed has my contact info (when I registered my machine) so would they be sending such info?
Sorry, I have no idea what ResMed did beyond addressing this issue on their website.
I know that the DMEs who supply the ResMed machines to patients were notified but from what I have heard the DMEs ignored the warning and continued to sell some sort of ozone device.... Money...that is the root of both sides of evil there.
I guess maybe they expect people to spend some time at their website every day just in case they post something new....said with a huge amount of sarcasm.
It was discussed at length here on this forum and I suspect other forums as well but again...lots of people don't ever visit forums like this.
And some people know about it and elect to go ahead and use some sort of ozone cleaner anyway.
I have known about SoClean ever since I started cpap in 2009 and I wouldn't have one in my house because of the dangers of ozone for one thing and the fact that they don't really "clean" anything anyway. They maybe sterilize something and that's a big maybe. Even SoClean advises a soap and water wash to remove grime, soil, oils, etc and then use SoClean. Duh....soap and water is all that is needed anyway and not a whole lot of that. They are making loads of money marketing fear and always have done so. I personally think that all those ozone device sellers (and SoClean isn't alone) are lower than pond scum.
And that recall of the other brand that you didn't pay any attention to....foam inside the blower units degraded and while a lot of factors caused the degradation...ozone device use played a part in that as well.
Take a sledge hammer to your ozone cleaner and count yourself lucky. If you were within the return period I would tell you to return it and get your money back.
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.
