Can I upload DreamStation info with bluetooth to phone & transfer to computer?

Post by mummmz » Thu May 05, 2022 4:20 pm

It's been a long time since I've been to this forum. I stopped using my DreamStation 1 when it was recalled and a year later I'm still waiting for a replacement. I don't know if I'll even accept it if it shows up. I don't want a used machine in this Covid-19 world. I started using my old machine last night with an extra hepa filter that should filter out any particle. I downloaded the DreamMapper app and connected through bluetooth while I wait for a microSD card reader to be delivered. I'm using a different computer that doesn't have a reader. I see people are now using OSCAR instead of SleepyHead. Is there any way to get my data from my APAP to my phone then to my computer via bluetooth? I'm having some medical issues that are making it more difficult to think through the process right now.

DreamMapper for last night shows AHI 3.8, Clear apneas 6, obstructive apneas 5, and total hypopneas 16. I had 5 disconnects, probably when the dog barked when he heard the air hissing during the night or I had to get up to go to the bathroom.

No...you can't do what you are hoping to do as it stands right now..... unless you had a very special WiFi card and additional software.

Does the computer without a SD slot have a USB port that you could use a card reader/adapter to get the files to the computer? It would be a whole lot simpler than what is needed to get that special WiFi card and software all set up.

The WiFi SD Card Pugsy's talking about is the Toshiba FlashAir.

Unfortunately they are no longer in production, difficult to find and very expensive.

When I got mine, I paid $40 (CDN), now on Amazon $271 (USD)

Oh well, just thought I'd ask. I have a card reader on order from Amazon. If the mail person would actually deliver my packages instead of putting a notice in my box to pick up my packages I could get it. Crossing my fingers I can get it tomorrow. Thanks for the replies.

I received my SD card reader and uploaded the last 3 nights using my machine. I didn't struggle with as much as when I first got it I'm glad to say. Today I woke up at about 7am and actually feel rested and alert. I would appreciate any suggestions for any setting changes or anything else I should do.

i can't see anything obviously amiss. one break on day three (bathroom?). looks like things are settling in and you are feeling good.

i say stay the course for a few nights and see how she goes.

unless someone else sees something i'm missing?

Thanks, yes, I think that was a bathroom break. The longer break on night 2 was due to storms and scared dogs. I had to sit up in bed and calm down 6 small dogs. My other one was fast asleep in her crate.

daw.

while not a small dog, our golden retriever is scared of storms. and fireworks. tranquilizers and a blanket over him seems to calm him a wee bit.

kind of hard to get good sleep with all that going on, i know.

I normally lay on my left side to sleep. I have a 5.5 lb blind maltese between the pillows against the headboard, a 4 lb dog against the back of my shoulder, a 6 lb dog against my waist, a 15 lb shih tzu and and 35 lb rat terrier mix by my legs/feet. The most scared 10 lb shih tzu usually sleeps on the opposite corner but all bets are off when there's rain and thunder He will step all over the other dogs and me to get me to protect him. He's a rescue from a back yard breeder. He had lived in a cage in a metal building with many other dogs. I don't allow the dogs to lay between me and the side of the bed so I can get up when needed and not knock them to the floor. It's probably not the best way to get rest but if they get up during the night I wake up and have to see what they are up to.

The 15 lb shih tzu is about 1-1/2 years old and very playful. She still chews on things she shouldn't. I worry she'll get hold of my mask or tubing that's on the nightstand during the day. What do people do with their mask & tubing during the day? Do you disconnect it and store it in a drawer or leave it out?

I just shove my mask and the biggest part of the long hose under the bed pillow. Out of sight and mostly out of mind.
I have cats and dogs but the dogs can't reach the top of the nightstand where the long hose and machine are....and the cats of course can jump high enough to reach things but they have never really paid any attention to my cpap stuff.
I did get one puncture in my long hose once but I am pretty sure that was an accident of walking on and maybe a fall in progress and she tried to catch herself. If they had wanted to play with the hose I am pretty sure I would have had more than one puncture hole. The item would likely be in shreds.
