Air Filter Replacement Schedule

The CPAP is filtering your room air. If the filter is getting dirty at 2-4 weeks, it means that the air you and your family are breathing 24/7 is dirty. I would be more concerned with that.

Every 21 days, whether it needs it or not.
When Kansas is burning the prairie (in a month or three) we get smoke.
Some days anybody can smell it--the rest of the time, folks with
respiratory issues suffer alone.

Yes, the clinical manual says one thing, but ResMed's CPAP replacement schedule guide says another: https://media.resmed.com/sites/3/201911 ... -sheet.pdf (every 14 days)

So I guess in the end I shouldn't worry about it and should continue my current replacement schedule.

And, just where do you think that ridiculous 'schedule' came from?

When in doubt, believe the clinician manual, not the stuff that's out there for the punters...

I'm certainly not an arse to "everybody" on here, just the ones that say dumb things.

I'd have *hoped* that a clinician would know where to get the more accurate info, like, oh, the clinician manual.

My specialty is emergency medicine -- not sleep medicine. I did not come here to ask for recommendations on what to do, I came to see what the consensus was that people were doing. The two are different.

@OP - In the interest of posting a diversity of views, I will offer this.

Filters are very cheap. Given that you can't see the super small particles, and assuming that even very small particles may affect your therapy, I replace once a month. If you buy them in bulk as previously mentioned, they will not send you to the poor house.

The more often you replace your filter, the greater the number of "small particles" that will get through.

Filters do a better job of filtering when they are used.

Many posters in this thread seem to believe that filters perform better when new, they don't.
