How to determine CDMA carrier for ResMed AirSense 10
How to determine CDMA carrier for ResMed AirSense 10
Does any know of a way to determine who the cell phone carrier is for a ResMed AirSense 10?
When I go into the menu, I can only see the SW version and SN of the internal modem.
Under the Provider label, it is blank.
I know that I've seen AT&T listed as a carrier on another ResMed device.

Re: How to determine CDMA carrier for ResMed AirSense 10
What is this obsession people have about the cellular carrier?
At least some have gotten over the impression that wi-fi has anything to do about it.
If you are afraid of 5g for some weird idea, just turn on airplane mode.

Look at the label on the back. One of the numbers will end with 4G or CDMA.

What obsession are your referring to? I asked a simple question.chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 8:23 pmWhat is this obsession people have about the cellular carrier?

Why are you mentioning Wi-Fi? I did not mention the word or ask about Wi-Fi at all.

And where the %(@% did I mention anything about 5G?

Let me type this slower so maybe someone will understand.
- How would one determine the CDMA carrier on their ResMed AirSense 10?
It's a very simple question. No need to go down rabbit holes with obsessions, wi-fi, or 5G (OMG

BTW, I sleep very comfortable every night next to my CDMA radiating CPAP machine, along with my cell phone, and plenty of wi-fi devices in the house.

I already know that my machine is CDMA - thus the reason for my question.
I did not ask for the difference btwn CDMA & 4G, nor how to find out if my machine is CDMA or 4G.
Although, thanks for your answer, as someone else might find it useful when researching their machine, as I found out when I researched my question and I read a post up here where someone posted a pic of the back of a 4G machine and where to look.

given the current state of affairs, i find it funny that 5g and airplane used in the same sentence.chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 8:23 pm

It's not going to matter by the end of year.
CDMA sunsets Stateside in 2022.

WHEN WILL AT&T, VERIZON AND T-MOBILE PHASE OUT 3G?
AT&T announced that its 3G network will be shut off by February 2022.
T-Mobile will finish shutting down Sprint’s 3G network, also known as CDMA, by March 2022, and retire Sprint’s LTE network by June 30, 2022. T-Mobile also plans to shut down its 3G networks by July 1, 2022, and will retire its older GSM 2G network, but no date has been set.
Verizon said it would finish decommissioning its 3G network by Dec. 31, 2022.

I am hoping that someone has an answer as to how one could determine what cell phone carrier their ResMed AirSense 10 CPAP machine is using, when it does not show the carrier name in the menu.
Thanks for your answer and not going down the 5G conspiracy rabbit hole!

If the provider field is blank then it may not be connected at all. Scroll down a bit more and see if there is anything in the signal strength box. If that shows --dbm then there is no connection at all. Is it possible that CDMA is already off in your area?
My AS10 (4G) would get either ATT or Tmobile before I started using airplane mode.

Re: How to determine CDMA carrier for ResMed AirSense 10
I'm guessing the OP is asking to figure out when the machine will stop sending data to ResMed for myAir. AT&T is ditching 3G next month. If it's AT&T that ResMed is using, then myAir will stop working on some AS10 machines next month.

Re: How to determine CDMA carrier for ResMed AirSense 10
I never turned on MyAir.
Why, when I can see everything I need on the SCREEN?
My data gets to my pneumonologist, automatically.
and I can record my data manually on a spreadsheet.
Everything works just fine.
My metadata is mine, alone--nobody's business but mine.
Just the way I like it.

It is connected to someone, somewhere - three bars on the antenna most of the time.Jeff8356 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 1:23 amIf the provider field is blank then it may not be connected at all. My AS10 (4G) would get either ATT or Tmobile before I started using airplane mode.
I just can't see who the cellular provider is because it's blank.
The over-watcher (VA) of my CPAP machine has access to my data and has accessed it before, as they have included my usage in my health records.
Also, the MyAir app does record data as well and works just fine (as worthless as they data is considered by some here).

Re: How to determine CDMA carrier for ResMed AirSense 10
Are you sure about that? I haven't read the fine print, but if someone was to read the fine print of ResMed's paperwork, I'm would venture to guess that they probably indicate in the fine print, that your usage of the machine allows them to access the data, from the machine, for their own internal uses, studies, product improvement, etc...chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 10:26 amMy metadata is mine, alone--nobody's business but mine.

You're correct that metadata should be OURs (and ours to determine how it is used)...but until the lawmakers make laws giving us the rights over our own metadata, it's free to whoever's lawyers write up the fine print on product usage data sheets or EULA's.
Facebook and Google make a lot of money off of our metadata! Heck, even CPAPTalk.com probably does too!

My cpap metadata has no connection to my mental health or any threat to society;
Therefore it falls under HIPAA, and "should" only be accessible to me
and any RELEVANT medical or insurance provider--as per current law.

metadata that does not include your personal information might not be HIPAA protected - I'm not a certified lawyer but I was considered one in the military (barracks/sea lawyer)!chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 2:22 pmMy cpap metadata has no connection to my mental health or any threat to society;
