I am normally adverse to "exercise," but the water is so nice and warm,
and I don't really mind the chlorine smell.

Re: Super Froggy--cancer, light at the end of the tunnel.
Hydrotherapy all done, and quite satisfactorily.
I can tell I needed it, and I am encouraged by this therapist's instructions.
Yes! This is a GO!
Next session is on the 30th--after that, it will be twice a week.

while not cancer-fighting related, i must say i feel very good after a "river walk" at the local ymca. it really tires out my muscles and i sleep like a baby after that.

In my case, the heated pool makes all the difference.
I can confirm that chemo makes one sensitive to temperature extremes.
I may actually need to start wearing socks to bed.

Re: Super Froggy--cancer, light at the end of the tunnel.
Edit: I have copied this post to a new, dedicated thread.
I have been trying to contact Angiodynamics, the manufacturer of my
implanted IV catheter, because the silicone wristband included in the
patient packet is nearly 99% illegible. Since this band supplies (or did)
vital information to emergency medical personnel,
I would feel safer with one that can actually be READ.
Consequently, I first called my surgeon's office--(they are trying.)
I emailed Angiodynamics, but now am trying to phone the customer assistance line.
EDIT:
I was on hold for over 42 minutes before I gave up and phoned my surgeon's secretary.
Just thought I'd share this bit of truth about customer care.

LAST INFUSION--DONE
Now I need a nice, plugged in, nap.
PET scan in January .
Following that, I see the onco once every 3 months until further notice.
HAPPY, HAPPY FROGGIE!

From grief comes love. More than just swag.
I am reminded that I have not been alone in my battles with cancer.
The doctors, nurses, and researchers, who toiled many difficult and painful hours,
to get medical solutions to the present point of efficacy--come to mind.
I also feel the presence of patients and their families, in particular those now gone.
One can only imagine the grief many still deal with.
This comes to the demonstration of compassion I witnessed today.
In memory of a former patient, her family donated generous gift bags
to everyone receiving treatment today,. (No idea if this was only at this location)
They have been doing this for the past six years.
I wish them well--very well, indeed.

Re: Super Froggy--cancer, LAST INFUSION DONE
I am thinking now about having the port removed sooner, rather than later.
I see the oncologist on the 6th, and if the PET scan is good,
I will probably call my surgeon to schedule removal.
I saw a video; and it looks like a pretty short process.
Nothing like getting rid of that lump on my chest.
Then no worries about the self-erasable wristband.
I expect to ask about a dressing to wear in the pool--if necessary.

Re: Super Froggy--cancer, LAST INFUSION DONE
I finished with the latest PET scan this morning.
Of course, I have to wait until the 6th before they will tell me if there is anything to see.
The doc seemed pretty confident before Christmas, but . . . ???
He wants to see me every 3 months after that.
Always something new to learn, I guess.
