I know y'all know this, but just wanted to reinforce how helpful you are to those who don't post questions ourselves--both the long-time posters who are very knowledgable, AND the users who post questions are gems.
My transition to Resmed Airsense 10 from DreamStation was not as smooth as others have experienced. I have read dozens of posts and seem to have finally settled into the new machine. At first the Resmed seemed to be putting out so much air it blew my mouth open. The pressure was running at 16+ those nights, whereas it ranged from 9-12 on DreamStation) I even tried clamping my hand over my mouth in case it was my open mouth causing the heavy flow, but that just resulted in aerophagia

The first thing I found that seemed to make a difference was changing the mask setting from nasal pillows to nasal (I use a Dreamwear Nasal Cushion). It was the Resp Therapist who set that, but I would have chosen the same. I thought I had answered the mystery of just what the mask setting does, but after things settled down I tested that theory by changing it back to nasal pillow and it made no difference to the pressure. Oh well. More searching led me to try changing the response to "soft" and that helped too, so that may be a difference for other DreamStation users who are struggling with Airsense.
But I was still experiencing mouth leaks the likes of which I had never experienced. It was like those few nights of the high pressure caused my mouth to forget how to stay closed. That remains true to this day after over two months of the new machine

Full face mask or tape worked the best, but no thank you

. For others who are struggling, the Scunci Method for Mouth Control seems to be the winner. Can't say I like it, but I can live with it and hope my mouth relearns how to stay closed. I'm sure there are times when I'm awake people hope my mouth will learn to stay closed too
Anyway, thank you very very much for all of your posts that have led me to a decent experience. I greatly prefer my Airsense for various reasons so I am very glad I could finally get it adjusted properly.
