Okay I did a different home study for 2nd opinion called Watchpat One. Here are the results. Any input?
I'm late 20s male and I'm thin. I suffer from fatigue everyday of my life. I can't remember the last time I woke up feeling rested and refreshed. I used the snore lab app for a week and several times I heard myself randomly wake up and take a deep breath. No snoring though. Anyways here are the results http://imgur.com/a/ac8s5TH that's the original study from earlier this year. Here is the watchpat one http://imgur.com/a/csITsmJ

15 RDI - on average, your breathing problems woke you once every four minutes during the study.
Are you happy with that?
Why did you undergo sleep studies?

I need to learn more about this. I forgot what RDI means. I woke up every 4min?! There is no way.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Mon Oct 25, 2021 12:07 pm15 RDI - on average, your breathing problems woke you once every four minutes during the study.

Also why did you ask me if I was happy with that?
And I did the sleep studies because I struggle getting to work on time due to feeling horrible in the mornings and throughout the day as well. Malaise, fatigue. I don't wake up ever feeling like I have energy. My dad who is middle aged and overweight has OSA but obviously I'm young and thin so I don't know...

What does RDI stand for in sleep?
RDI stands for Respiratory Disturbance Index. This is your combined number of apneas, hypopneas, and RERAs per hour of sleep. RERA stands for respiratory effort related arousal is an event that causes an arousal or a decrease in oxygen saturation, without qualifying as an apnea or hypopnea.
If you had 15 disturbances per hour...that equals 1 every 4 minutes. 60 divided by 15. See a doctor about starting CPAP therapy.

Small jaw ? Large tongue ? Clogged sinuses ? Lots more going into this that just being old and fat. I know old fat people who don't have problems know young thin people who do.

It is more accurate to say that you had an arousal every four minutes. An arousal means that your brain arouses to a lighter level of sleep so that you breathe. You will not be aware of or remember most of these arousals.I woke up every 4min?! There is no way.
While arousals keep us breathing, the problem is that they disrupt our sleep cycle so that we do not get sufficient deep stage or REM stage sleep to restore our brain and body. Therefore, we feel fatigue, malaise, brain fog, lack of energy, etc etc.
CPAP keeps the airway open so that we breathe properly and there is no need for the brain to arouse to a lighter stage of sleep. Better quality of sleep = less fatigue, more energy and feeling better.
I am also thin, not at all overweight. Before my diagnosis and treatment with CPAP, I was so exhausted that I was on the verge of having to stop working. Let's just say that things were grim and I was desperate. Now I am better, have far less brain fog, and am able to continue the work I love, as a dyslexia specialist teaching dyslexic kids how to read.

I did. He referred me to an ENT who did a nasal endoscopy and ordered me a home sleep study. The results of the first home sleep study (ApneaLink Air) shower AHI of one so insurance wouldn't do an in lab and it would've cost me almost $1k out of pocket. ENT said I'm fine and no OSA. Now I did the Watchpat one for a 2nd opinion and here I am

Send the results to your ENT. I would bet he would want to prescribe either another test or even just go right to a APAP.
Also try asking your insurance if you pay for the sleep study and it finds OSA will they reimburse you.

Stop wasting time and money on a system that is not working for you.
Get yourself TREATED--by whatever means possible. (Cpap, of course!)
Nobody deserves what you are going through.
