Additional humidification help

Using a dreamstation go. (with the foam removed)
when I use the heated humidifier at level 4, the amount of water is just about right, but when I sleep for longer than usual (eg during weekend) the water runs out and I get dry throat.
If I set the humidifier at level 3, the water lasts long enough, but it feels much better at 4 compared to 3.

I was wondering if I could use an HME filter in conjunction with the heated humidifier at level 3?

Using it at home, you could add a small humidifier to the room. Doesn't it get very noisy without the foam?

Depending on the mask used ....the HME disc might help...it has to be in place real close to your face to help much and some masks have a short hose with the mask that makes it hard to get the disc close to the face.
It's a relatively cheap experiment to try though.

The increase in noise is very slight. Makes me wonder why they bothered with the foam in the first place.

I'm using a resmed airtouch f20. They have recently made a humidx hme for the f20 where it sits inside the mask itself.

Not sure about leak level, but I get a 100% fit every night. No issue with the mask. Full face resmed f20.

Mouth only opens if I use a nasal mask or nasal pillows. That's why I need to use FF. But once I use FF, mouth remains closed.

Try to place your CPAP so that AC is not blowing directly on it.

My machine is actually inside my bedside cabinet. I've drilled a hole in the side for the hose to exit. This way, it is dead quiet.
Cabinet is definitely NOT airtight, so there is enough airflow into it for the machine to ingest for pressure.

Just to update everyone here...
I've tried it with just the humidX F20 disc without the humidifier chamber. Too dry.
I tried it with the humidX F20 disc along with another inline HME (but still without the humidification chamber, trying to see if I can do away with it). A bit better, but still too dry. (the inline HME sits post vent, so inbetween breaths, the HME is losing moisture to the vent)
finally I tried it with a lower level of humidity set on the humidifier chamber with the humidX F20 disc... This finally works well enough. Before the water warms up, there is significant humidification provided by the F20 disc. Once the water warms up, there is enough humidification for my comfort and the water doesn't run out after 8 hours. I can feel the level of "wetness" in the air... like at the start of the breath, there is a LOT of humidity, but as it tapers off, I can feel it drying out slightly, indicating that the disc has released all its moisture, but there is still a good amount being delivered by the water in the chamber. But nowhere does it feel completely dry.

This may be a difficult solution, but I like tinkering and created a piggyback water chamber that flows into the main chamber as it drains. The water used to last through the night but when I grew a beard it no longer did due a slightly increased airflow for the extra leakage. It was either lose the beard or find a way to make more water available. Works great. Ho Ho Ho.
