Need help with Apria charge…
Yes, I am a dumbass for not checking reviews before choosing Apria as my DME provider. So I started to use CPAP machine last December, and paid 3 months cpap rent fees and an initial fee to Apria. At the end of February, I called Apria, and they told me that my rental device has now converted to “Purchased”, and that I do not owe them anything and will not receive another bill from them unless I order supplies from them. Fast forward to mid July of this year, I suddenly see a 70+ dollars charge on my credit card from Apria, so I called them, they said that’s what I still owe them on the device. I argued that Apria had told me that I am clear and square with them back in Feb, but the person insisted that I owe them this money. Then, I checked with my insurance company, and there is claim (code E0601) with 400+ dollars as amount billed. Apparently, it states that I am responsible for 300 dollars since my deductible has not been met yet. However, when I called my insurance company, I was told that claim was for a new device, which I have not received any device or supplies from Apria since December of 2020. The insurance company CSR told me to contact Apria, but it was such pain in the butt to talk to Apria ( long hold, some CSR with heavy accent, and they hang up on you if they couldn’t solve the problems). What should I do? Any input will be d appreciated! Thanks in advance.

That's why they are called Crapria...The main complaints about them are their Billing practices, Errors in shipping. and Customer service. Other than that they are OK. Anything they tell you get in writing. I would just protest the charge with the Credit Card Company.

Challenge the charge on your card with the cc company. Challange the bill to your insurance with the insurance company.

I dealt with Crapia for over 10 years. I went on Medicare last spring and I finally signed up with Aeroflow recently thanks to the recommendation here. I found if you call Crapia back and speak to someone else, you may hear what you want to hear.

Re: Need help with Apria charge…
You can call your credit card company and ask them to change your card number.
There is often a charge, but it's worth it.
In the past I had foolishly given crapria my debit card number, but by sheer luck,
it was one of about a million cards compromised in the Target data breach;
and refreshing the card was free.
Cannot always be so lucky . . .

I have dealt with Crapria on and off for almost 11 years. Every time I talk to them the ask for a credit card to put on file.
I have never and will never given them a valid credit card. I always have them bill me and have my bank send them a check from the bill pay function.
I have received 2 machines and many masks, hoses and other supplies from them.

Re: Need help with Apria charge…
This is a great idea, because writing a personal check gives them your tracking number,
which is printed right on the check blanks.
Legally, they cannot use that number without your permission--but . . . Apria.

You can also say you lost your card when you get this fixed or they will do it again.

You can ask, but don't be surprised if they will charge a fee--or "can't" do it at all.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Tue Aug 03, 2021 10:52 amI'm wondering if credit card companies will block companies you specify from making future charges to your account? This seems like a service they should offer. ??

Re: Need help with Apria charge…
It sounds like a fraudulent charge. Dispute it with your credit card company AND find out how your report a fraudulent charge to your insurer and to the state agency which licenses DME's in your state.
