Z2 with HME and Nasal Pillows?

Post by unityco » Thu Jul 29, 2021 1:42 pm

Hi all,

I was about to click "buy" on a Z2 system, but I read the manual first. It says the HME doesn't work with masks that have a short tube, the HME must be attached to the mask elbow. I've only used nasal pillow masks, and my current (Air Fit P10) has a short hose; problem is it seems every nasal pillow mask has a hose (or at least some kind of distance between the nose and the inlet.) Can anyone recount their experience with a Z system using their HME and nasal pillows? Could anyone recommend a mask compatible with the HME? Are there any hacks or alternatives to the HME? Does the HME do enough to worry about making it work?

Thanks for you input!

PS... sorry if this has been covered before. It's hard to search for Z2 and HME... both words are too short to count!

Here's what I would do: cut down the hose of a spare p10,
and use duck tape to link it to the z2 hose.
It's YOUR equipment---modification is allowed.
