Add-on humidifiers for ResMed AirCurve 10 ST ?

Post by rigdiver » Thu Jul 15, 2021 1:12 pm

Hi Guys,

Wanted to see if anyone can recommend an external humidifier they have had good luck with.

I am on a ResMed Air Sense 10, heated hose, heated humidifier set at level 6, but still waking with dry mouth even though water is in the tank and is warm.

By end of night usually water is all gone.

If I set higher levels on the humidifier I get condensation / drip in my hose.

if you are increasing the humidity and getting rainout then adding a second external humidifier will add even more humidity and even more rain-out. And you can't take advantage of a heated hose which will make the rain-out even worse.

What is your heated hose set at? Are you addressing the rain-out properly with your hose temperature.

Are you opening your mouth?

That would explain both the dry mouth and running out of water.

Finally, if you are experiencing dry mouth *and* running out of water, you need to decrease the humidity setting, not increase it. Your going the last 15, 30, 60??? minutes of therapy with no humidity. Of course your going to be dry.

You need to set your humidity at a level that the water lasts all night.

not that it has any bearing on the answer, which ds gave you, but the title of your post says "AirCurve" and the body of your text says Air Sense".

which is it?

There's no such thing as a Airsense ST So it has to be an Aircurve 10 ST

that's what the TITLE says. that's NOT what he put in the body-

he has the machine names correct, just his text says different than title.

to the op-again, this has nothing to do with the answer. i was just wondering which machine you have. :)
