Compliance
Compliance
So last month, after years of having no medical insurance and no CPAP machine, I got medical insurance through the state of Oregon. Got a Resmed Airsense10. I want to keep it, so I was told I need at least 4 hours of use on 70% of all the days I use it. Overall I am averaging 6 to 8 hours a night on the machine, but I have had a few hiccups. For example the other night I was so tired from work I forgot to put my mask on and ended up with only 3.5 hours of use. I've had the machine since June 16th. According to Oscar my compliance for the last 30 days has been 87%.
Should I be worried that I will need to return the machine?
TIA...

Re: Compliance
You said it in your post...You only need 70% to be compliant. During a consecutive 30 day period, you need to use the machine 4 hours a night 70% of the time...that's 21 out of 30 nights. If you need 70% and you had 87%, why are you worried?

Re: Compliance
No such thing there are many air10 machines, 4 airsense10 and 5 or 6+ aircurve10 machines.

Pretty sure you had a good idea what machine I was referring to.

Re: Compliance
Come on guys. So I left out the word "Airsense" in my original post. But since I mentioned I got a new Resmed machine along with the fact that the Airsense 10 is the latest model, two plus two is four right? Cut me some slack. I edited my first post. :/

Re: Compliance
There are no S10 ResMed cpap machines.
ResMed ended the various S followed by a number with the release of the AirSense/AirCurve models. The S9 was the last "S" machine model line.
The S10 is a Chevy pickup truck.
There are some people here who are simply a stickler for exact terminology.
While I do realize that a lot of people have taken the S10 shortcut route...doesn't make it technically correct and I am one of those who want to be as factual as possible whenever possible.
If you were getting advice on something here do you want factual advice or generic half assed correct advice filled with slang terms that aren't relevant???
You weren't getting beat up...you were getting factual statements to correct a rather incorrect term.
You weren't attacked. No one called you names....and trust me there are some here who might have gone down that road.
You got the facts...cold hard facts and it's up to you if you want to learn or not.
There are 4 different AirSense 10 models...and I think around 6 different AirCurve 10 models.
So when you said "S10" that left the door open for you using approx 10 different models.
It's important that people know EXACTLY which model they are using.
Good luck to you. Most likely you will have satisfied your insurance compliance requirements within a relatively short period of time.
Then you won't have to worry about it but there is wiggle room in case someone has a problem...that's why the requirement is 70 % out of a 30 day consecutive time frame where you use the machine at least 4 hours.
Even if you failed it for some reason...there are appeals and most insurance will give you a second chance to meet the requirements.

Re: Compliance
It's all good, I took no offense. Probably my fault for not putting the correct model name in the first post but I figured people would know what machine I had. For the record I have the Resmed AirSense 10 AutoSet model 37090. Not sure which one that is, but it's better then the old compact S8 I was using.

Re: Compliance
No, the Airsense 10 whatever (for different ones) are not the "latest models".
The latest are the many AirCurve 10 machines, though technically the airsense 11 is the latest model.
If you're wanting people to *help* you, then why do you go making them guess what you have?

Re: Compliance
Eleven years ago, a DME tried to shove off an S8 Escape on me.
Thanks to this forum, I stuck to my guns, and got a better machine.

Re: Compliance
That was not my intention, nor did I mean it to come across that way. But I figured since we all know about the DreamStation recall and the fact that I stated I had a new ResMed machine that everyone would more or less know what I was asking about. That being said, I will be more precise in the future. And in all reality, my question was about compliance, not about the machine itself. At this point, all things considered, I would rather have a DreamStation 2 then this older Airsense 10. But that's neither here or there since my DME only carries Resmed products. If you're wanting people to *help* you, then why do you go making them guess what you have?

OT Dreamstation 2
In the past you used Sleepyhead. OSCAR is the current incarnation.
Philips encrypted the data files for DS2.
So if you still want to track via OSCAR you should stay away from the DreamStation
(even if you have the opportunity to exchange to it.)
BlueDragon wrote: ↑Mon Jun 07, 2021 12:09 pmWe are making great progress on adding support for the AirSense 11 since ResMed has apparently made only minor changes to the data files. The DS2 presents a much knottier problem as decoding the data is more difficult with the changes that Philips Respironics made to the data.

IOW, a treatment data encryption PAYWALL.
Avoid at every opportunity.
Especially if you want to continue using Oscar.

Re: Compliance
I tend to use OSCAR about once a week. For everyday use I use the ResMed app on my phone. I wasn't aware that the DreamStation locked out all of the data. That really sucks. Guess I will stick to ResMed products.
