I recently replaced my Dreamstation with Nuance Pro, which I thought worked well. However, I got a new machine due to the recall. I purchased the ResMed Airsense 10 with Airfit P10. I've used the new machine for @2 weeks and AHI #'s are better. Is this because maybe it's a new brand of machine and the way they report data, or is it really an improvement? I did not know if the way each brand measures, etc., causes the difference. I've attached 3 photos of my data. One is a summary since I started using a CPAP, one is last night's ResMed data, and one is the last night I used the Dreamstation. How can I compare the two and do things look ok?
I would appreciate any advice for comments.
Thank you all for the comments and information everyone contributes. It is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Re: New Machine
unfortunately, it's like comparing apples to oranges. back in january of this year, i sent my resmed off for repair(noisy!). while it was away, i used my older resperonics. and found to my surprise that my ahi dropped! when my resmed returned, i hooked it up and found that my ahi on it went up!sleepbetter wrote: ↑Thu Jul 08, 2021 9:25 amI recently replaced my Dreamstation with Nuance Pro, which I thought worked well. now, i know this is dead opposite of your situation. i'm just mentioning it to point out, as it was pointed out to me, that these two brands have not only a different way of measuring events but also different algorithms.
of course with the current resperonics recall going on, i'm back to resmed. it is what it f%*&@ing is and reckon i'll just have to live with it. (heh. see what i did there?)
at any rate, i hope this helps you in some way.

AHIs do not matter that much if they are within reasonable distance of each other.zonker wrote: ↑Thu Jul 08, 2021 11:00 amnow, i know this is dead opposite of your situation. i'm just mentioning it to point out, as it was pointed out to me, that these two brands have not only a different way of measuring events but also different algorithms.

As zonker points out, he sleeps better with feel of Respironics' algorithm.
What matters is whether you sleep better with ResMed.
Though again as he point out, with the recall you just have to live with it even if you don't like it.

"live with it" being the operative phrase, all right.GrumpyHere wrote: ↑Thu Jul 08, 2021 7:57 pm

i suppose, if i were to get ambitious enough, i could take the foam out of that resperonics. but i don't believe i have any ambitious in my inventory.
