Need DME Recommendation

Post by Sheriff Buford » Sat Jul 03, 2021 5:33 am

I'm soooo done with Crapia! I went on Original Medicare in March. I dealt with Crapia for maybe 9 or so years. I have often been sent screaming into a pillow after dealing with Crapia over those years. Now they say they can't order my Fitlife Total mask in extra large. They've pulled that crap (from Crapia) over the years, when the extra large size was available thru them. When I got close to to my Medicare enrolment, I have fantasized about using another DME. After going on Medicare, I have tried several local DME's I couldn't find a suitable DME, even tho' one of them offered me a job! I have been paying outta pocket for the fitlife mask from our host, but I would like to find a national DME that takes Medicare that won't give me crap..... er.... like Crapia! Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance, Sheriff

I have heard good things about Aeroflow Healthcare...no personal experience though
800-480-5491
They are one of the few to offer coverage for the Bleep...so they seem to be more flexible and generous with what they can supply to people in terms of not so commonly used masks.
I have no idea if that will help you with getting your preferred mask but worth a phone call.

I'm using these people. So far so good, but I've only been at this for 5 weeks. They were very helpful in letting me try numerous masks and giving me all the extras as needed. I've yet to place an order.

Medicare has a rule that if a provider cannot supply you with the exact item
on your Rx, they HAVE TO tell you who will sell you the item.
When asking, specify another Medicare provider.
Your turn to annoy crapria. . .

I use Aeroflow, and they have worked out well for me. I switched to them because my local DME would not supply the Bleep I wanted. Aeroflow was not familiar with Bleep, but they were happy to get it for me.

Unfortunately, the Fitlife has a permanent silicone cushion,
eliminating the money-saving option of replaceable cushions;
which may be a deterrent to DMEs wanting to stock/order it.
Padacheek makes a cloth liner, which helps extend silicone life;
but Respironics totally blew it on this total face mask.

Yea, I’m having trouble with the F20, so I’m tempted to go with the Quattro. I used the Quattro successfully years ago. I liked the ability to adjust the pressure on the nose bridge. Ticks me off. I want the fitlife total mask, and I shouldn’t have to switch masks just to satisfy Medicare. I’ll try the Quattro, but I may just end up buying from our host and be done with it.

Agreed.

Do you have a Medicare Advantage plan? Those things give Medicare a bad name as they do have way too many limitations.

Why is it Medicare's fault that Crapria won't get you the mask you prefer?
Medicare pays by HCPCS billing code...not model of mask.
Medicare and/or any Advantage plan pays by the HCPCS billing code for a full face mask...A7030
Doesn't matter if it is the F30 or F20 or Quattro or whatever full face mask.
Sounds more like Crapria just doesn't want to do the little bit of extra work to order the mask for you and that's not Medicare's fault...that's lazy ass Crapria's fault.
