Large vs Standard size headgear for Resmed F20

Post by gadgetmaniah » Fri Jul 02, 2021 9:55 am

Hi, I was looking to purchase an F20 mask but was confused about which headgear to choose. I had a Quattro Air previously whose headgear was a bit small for me when I tightened the mask so I was thinking of getting a large headgear for the F20. My only concern is that the headgear ends up being too large for me.

Is the only difference between standard and large size headgears the length of the straps? If so, then I guess it shouldn't be a problem even if the headgear turns out a bit big for me.

while we wait for someone who knows what they are talking about  i went over to cpap.com. the only size i see is the mask itself. this is what their size guide shows-

dunno if this helps or just adds to the confusion?

Thank you for the reply. I'm actually ordering the mask assembly kit and the headgear separately, and when you order the headgear separately it asks whether you want a standard size or a large size.

Also, I am looking at Resmed F30i too and would prefer to get that if I can get the measurements right. The thing is that with full face masks I experience air leaking into my eyes, so I am thinking it might better to order a hybrid ask. The F30i seems to have good reviews.

Thanks for trying to help though :D

If a headgear is a little bit too large people can usually tighten things up a bit.
If a headgear is a little bit too small....well... we can fix it but it is going to involve a lot of work. It's involves adding material.

FYI, a complete F20 mask only comes with a standard headgear, which is the medium. Large and small are sold separately

Thanks for the help everyone!

However, I ended up ordering the F30i. With the F20 I was concerned about whether I would still experience air leaking into my eyes, which I cannot tolerate at all. I've experienced this issue with the couple of full face masks I've had up till now. I've read good things about the F30i so I'm hopeful that it'll turn out well (as long as the size I ordered is correct!).
