Error Memory Settings on ResMed VAuto

Post by bluemom51 » Fri Jun 18, 2021 8:02 pm

Hi - My ResMed Vauto is about 3 years old. Recently it flashes an error message - Memory Settings - Contact Provider. I tried to contact my DME but they do not answer their phones or call back, and are locally known as useless. I'm not going to my "sleep doctor" anymore, and she would only say "have you lost weight?". That has nothing to do with this. This machine was purchased through my insurance at the DME.

It seems to be functioning as usual as far as data, etc. Whenever you change a setting like EPap, or anything, it flashes that message. When you click the round button, it just goes on as normal, and it does make the change. It is a problem when the power goes out for a bit or you unplug it. It does this crazy thing when power is restored - it sets itself to a regular CPap mode with a fixed level of 8...... This was particularly fun when I woke up a few hours later thinking I was going to pass away and could barely breathe. I just thought to check the settings and saw that it had changed everything. I restored all the bipap settings and it seemed to work.

I'm in a bit of a fix because the DME where I got the machine has "gone dark" in a way. My "backup" VAuto is being checked by the online dealer where I purchased it for a warranty repair/replacement. It does that "upset calf calling for its mom" moaning as you breathe in an out. I really cannot be without a machine at night as I have severe apnea and some heart issues. If the dealer doesn't replace the machine, it will be sent to ResMed and could take a long time to get back to me.

Has anyone ever encountered this error message or do you know what it might be? My daily report has not been good at all lately, and I am concerned that it really isn't working just right even though there are the usual data numbers, and it all looks "normal".

Thanks for any input.

3 years old...I assume the AirCurve 10 VAuto???

Sorry, never heard of this problem but you might try calling up acbio.com and seeing if they have any ideas.
Sounds like it is defaulting back to original cpap settings with a power disruption and that sure isn't normal.

All I know to offer is maybe check power bricks and/or connections ...but to be honest it sounds like an internal issue.

You might try to find a service manual for it because often those manual go into great detail as to what so and so next step might be with so and so message.

https://acbio.com/ they are licensed warranty repair facility for both ResMed and Respironics. They used to be only Respironics.
