CPAP Cleaners
CPAP Cleaners
I’m in the market for a CPAP Cleaner and would like to hear what some of you use and why you like it.
I’m more of an 03 style myself but open to all suggestions.
I’m looking at more of a smaller size as well. The So Clean and Lumin (which I bought but don’t like Arghh) just take up to much space on my bedside table.
I’ve been looking at the Purify, Sleep8 and a few other more portable cleaners.
Thanks for your suggestions and opinions!

Re: CPAP Cleaners
They WILL ruin your machine, plus they don't clean ANYTHING at all.
Both Resmed and now Respironics have advisories that the ozone things damage the CPAPs, and they won't cover those repairs.

The ONLY 'cpap cleaner' on the market that actually will remove snot, dirt, drool, sneezes are ultrasonic cleaners, and you ain't gonna have one of those on your bedside table.

Re: CPAP Cleaners
He spoke the truth. Short and sweet but the truth and I am sure not what you were looking for. Don't go shooting the messenger for bringing news you didn't want to hear.
None of these "cleaner" machines actually remove any sort of soil. They, at best, nuke it so it is sterile and kill germs or bacteria residing in the snot, slobber, oils, etc. Even the so called cleaning devices tell you that you still have to physically remove the snot, slobber, etc with some sort of cleaning solution (they are nice enough even to sell you that solution).
You need to understand cleaning which involves the physical removal of crud vs sanitizing or nuking. They aren't the same thing.
Even if the machines did sterilize stuff....guess what happens the minute you touch your stuff....you contaminate it with whatever your body has on it and your bedroom might contain floating around in the air.

Re: CPAP Cleaners
Baby wipes (unscented) for the silicone and plastic parts of the mask.
Wash the headgear like a bra--maybe even with bras.
Wash the tank as needed (like your water bottle)--Dawn/clean dishwater.
Replace the disposable filter when it looks gray-ish.
Dust off the OUTSIDE of everything else.
Cheap, portable, and effective.
Also will not hog space in your bedroom.

The discussions in this search link would apply to any and all of those style machines.
search.php?keywords=Soclean
As has been stated........THEY DON'T "CLEAN" ANYTHING........except your wallet.
You STILL have to WASH everything before you use their machines. And then, you have to replace various parts at periodic intervals.......NOT CHEAP!
With regard to these machines, two old sayings come to mind:
"Stupid is as stupid does."
"A fool and his money are soon parted."
The following are from the manuals:
https://www.soclean.com/wp-content/uplo ... l_RevH.pdf
Page 8
1. Pre-washing your PAP Equipment
Use two capfuls of the included pre-wash
with a gallon of water to wash your PAP
equipment (mask, hose, and reservoir), then
rinse thoroughly with clean water.
Note:
The SoClean 2 uses no fluids in its
operation. The pre-wash is supplied for
hand washing your PAP equipment only.
DO NOT immerse your SoClean in water.

Side note: The previous links to the NOCLEAN manuals no longer work. I suspect they didn't like the negative info about their products. But, they DID work when I copied them......and the rest of the manuals.....just in case they disappeared.

Yeah, Captain Kirk can be quite persuasive, but I just like to hear their justification from their own mouths. Most times it's just "I'm lazy so this will take care of it for me" or something to that effect.chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 10:24 amSaw the ads; again, and again, and AGAIN.

At least some of them actually ask about it and do some research before they waste their money on these things.

Re: CPAP Cleaners
Laziness used as "motivation" . . .
How, exactly, can that possibly result in good decisions?

It wasn't meant to be any of those things, it was meant to save you from wasting more money, and doing harm to your machine.

Re: CPAP Cleaners
Just wow!!!!
Do you guys all just kind of rag on newer people who ask questions for specific information because we don’t know the answer????? Jeezuz people.
You’ve called me “LAZY”. You’ve posted with an ATTITUDE towards me for whatever reason…. Just for asking questions because I thought this would be a place to get some great information.
CHANGE THE F*CKING ATTITUDE, PEOPLE. NOT VERY WELCOMING AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
New guy just trying to better his experience with CPAP issues including cleaners….. and some/most of you guys just want to chop my head off.
WHY????????????? Do you feel the need to thump your chest and make sure you point out you know more than me???
How helpful do you think this kind of attitude would be in ANY other forum?????
*** And I DID NOT ASK FOR IT….
*** NOTHING I SAID WAS REMOTELY CLOSE TO BEING “SMARTASS”
What the F*CK is wrong with you people..

Re: CPAP Cleaners
Maybe you didn't bother to read this
http://cpaptalk.com/user-agreement.php
Please don't use the F bomb...it's a violation of the terms of agreement you agreed to when you joined this forum.
But a lot of people who don't use those devices ...did respond and they took the time to explain in great detail as to why they don't user those devices.
You didn't like what was said....news flash...you don't get to dictate who responds or what is said when you post in a public forum.
Lose the potty mouth please....it's not called for and just because you omitted a couple of letters doesn't mean we are so stupid to not realize what you are saying.
I know of no forum members at all who have any experience with one of those teeny tiny "cleaning" devices you expressed interest in.
So you aren't going to get very many responses even if you did like the So Clean and even less considering that so many forum members here won't use even the SoClean. You aren't going to draw from a very large pool of people with experience with those devices much less the smaller devices.
So....the polite response would have been to thank those people (or just ignore them) who took the time to try to explain why such devices aren't needed and might potentially be harmful to you or your equipment but that you wished to wait and see if anyone here had any experience to get their perspective.....not cuss out those that disagreed with what you want to do.
You have the right to wait it out....but the others have the same right to voice their opinion as well. Suit yourself but please do it without the colorful language.
More of such language will get your thread deleted.
There are better/other ways to disagree with someone than dropping the F bomb.
Have a nice day.
And yes...I am a moderator here so I have some teeth available when people don't play nice here.

Just because you didn't spell out the F bomb in its entirety doesn't make it not profanity. While using CPAPtalk.com, you will not:

........
Please don't use the F bomb...it's a violation of the terms of agreement you agreed to when you joined this forum.
This is what you said in your first post....ever think that since you didn't get any positive comments about any of those cleaners that maybe no one who used one of those devices was here to respond????Kapitan wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 5:55 pmJust wow!!!!

FWIW....I know of maybe a handful of people who use the SoClean device...they are happy with their choice but you already said you weren't happy with the size of that device.
