Thanks to ChicagoGranny, RIch, and Booksfan for helping me when I was looking at a new travel machine a few weeks ago. Just before making a decision, I had a health issue that put everything on hold. Thanks to a combo of modern and ancient medicine I will soon be ready for outdoor and travel again. As advised by the website rules, I am starting a new thread rather than restart the old one.
Questions I haven't found answers yet on this site, CPAP.com or elsewhere include: Is the Z2 able to be powered by Expion batteries (I intend to be hiking/canoeing/etc. for more than one night)? Is there an actual performance difference between 24 and 12 volt power (Mini vs Z2)? And, along a more personal vein; if the Z2 costs less, is quieter, weighs slightly less, uses less power when on a battery, and seems to be durable, why am I drawn to the Air Mini? Maybe its because I am so happy with my Airsense 10 and had less than great results on previous "smaller" brands. Or, maybe its just habit. Anyway, any additional advice would be very welcome.
Thanks for being there for all of us!

I must have missed something, but I thought the idea was to stay in 'your' thread (unless it's 10 yrs old) so people can see most recent story without having to go back and find info details.

You're right. I read it backwards - darn pain meds. I will try to delete this and look for answers a different way.

No, don't delete, we're not the forum police, and you did say what happened... relax.

Re: Back to Travel Machines - Z2 vs AirMini Questions
Whew! Thanks.
I included way too much background in the previous post anyway. In summary, I: have been in the CPAP gig for about 16 years; have had several home and variety of travel machines (& many mask shapes and sizes); own and don't use a DME as I think I'm pretty handy at reading data, tweaking adjustments as needed, and knowing how I feel; and finally, am retiring soon and would like to have my current insurance help with a new travel machine, esp as my deductible and OOC is fulfilled. My current travel machine (Transcend 2) is duct taped together and hacked a couple ways. It has been in several countries, many states, dozens of hiking miles, hundreds of canoe miles, many nights camping and on the road, etc. Using advice from this site, I bought Airsense 10 last spring.
Thanks again, Chris
