Trouble falling asleep

Post by Dcmg1900 » Thu May 06, 2021 4:29 pm

I started a couple of week with my CPAP dreamstAtion device, pressure 6 min, 15 max, a flex 3, no ramp up. How ever I noticed an immediate increase of episodes that right about to fall asleep feels like I stopped breathing, but this started with the use of the machine, could it be my configuration? Any advice is appreciated

It's not uncommon for that to happen, but don't worry about it now... wait and see how things go otherwise over time and please write back in this thread with more news and/or questions.

not sure i'm following you here. you've noticed what "increase of episodes"? or are you saying that stopping breathing is it?

He may be referring to the 'sleep-wake junk' of little clear airways - but not true centrals - that often happen when falling asleep or just before waking... and might be aware (dimly) of those.

Thanks Julie, 'Sleep-Wake Junk' it sounds about right, my apologies for not expressing myself right, but this type of events are happening o my while using the device right when I’m falling asleep.

Any settings I should modify or general advice? My impression was this type of problems should be fixed by the cpap machine.

in order to give you specific answers to your question, we would need to see some charts to see just what your events are.

sleep apnea is very specific to each of us.

if you could download the software program, oscar, and post some charts, we could then see those events. we'd then be able to offer some advice as to what settings you could change.

good luck!
