Dreamstation hose has gotten loose

Post by Yousuf » Tue Apr 27, 2021 7:25 am

So the rubber boot at the end of my Dreamstation's hose has gotten very loose. It just drops off of the mask connector under gravity. I've had to resort to scotch-taping it together. Is there a way to tighten this up again? The hose type is HT15, I think.

Can you get a replacement HT15 through your DME that is covered by insurance? If not, simply purchase a new one through a retailer. I found this on Amazon and the price seems reasonable.

Just curious.... are you using a CPAP cleaner such as a SoClean or similar that uses ozone? The ozone from one of these cleaners could cause rubber parts such as on the hose to deteriorate and possibly lose their ability to fit snug on the mask fitting.

Well, that's much cheaper than the local store I got this at the last time, at least 4x cheaper!

No to the SoClean.

Or smart non-thinking, as I didn't even know what it was before this. 😉

I use simple automotive hose clamps. All car parts shops stock them in a correct size, and they will last "forever". And they are quite inexpensive.

They can also be found in plumbing supplies at Menard's, Home Depot, and Lowe's.
Automotive parts stores may be a bit pricier.
