RemStar Auto w/C-Flex to Resmed S8 Elite

Post by Slinky » Mon Jan 08, 2007 4:46 pm

Went in to the DME's today. I returned my loaner RemStar Auto w/C-Flex and picked up my replacement Resmed S8 Elite. They didn't have the replacment Humidaire 3i tho. They have to send this one back in to get the new one. Go figure the reasoning on that one! They didn't need the original Elite in order to get a replacement, but they need the original Humidaire 3i to get a replacement. Ah well, mine is not to reason why .....

now that is what I call going down hill, put you on a machine with CFlex then take you off for a lesser machine without it.

your DME is doing you no favors that is for sure.

The Elite has EPR though so it's not all bad.

I should have been more clear: my first and only PAP machine has been the Resmed S8 Elite. We had some problems w/the Humidaire 3i which is suspected to be w/in the Elite rather than w/the Humidaire 3i itself so Resmed said they would replace both units.

I was given the RemStar Auto w/C-Flex as a loaner because my titration study results were based on only 140 minutes of sleep out of two full nights of titration so my sleep doctor wanted a better assessment at home in familiar surroundings, etc.

Actually, other than a CPAP being a step down from an Auto there are features about BOTH machines that I like. And Resmed DEFINITELY has the advantage in an easily readable LED screen and in access to the Efficacy Data. Of course, when one has the software and reader that is much less important. But it is nice to be able to access AHI, AI and HI plus a few other items every morning just by pushing a button and not having to go thru the download and reader process.

Howemsover, I liked that RemStar Auto w/C-Flex enough I intend to purchase one. Not sure which I will use as the travel and backup machine but given how long it took the DME to get the replacement Elite and now more waiting for the Humidaire 3i I know I DEFINITELY want a backup and do NOT want to have to rely on the DME to provide one should I run into problems again!!!
