Hi,

I have a RESMED bipap machine

Air Fit F20 mask ( full face)

I have no way to download my information

But all of a sudden my AHI has shot up. :?

It was running like 1 or 2 or 3. now its like 7.5 this morning, ( for the last 2 or so days now)

I sleep fine and I am able to stay awake throughout the day. I get up at 8:55 and I am in bed by 11 PM ( thats 9 hours 55 min) ...
I know I need to cut back to just 9 hours. I am trying to do that slowly. I have been trying to keep it UNDER 10 hours. Because I hear 10 hours is BAD For you.
But that is another post I guess.

I have lost 40 something pounds.

I do wear my mask tight as I can get it.

I know Its almost time to get a new cushion. ( I can call Lincare and they'll mail it out about April 15th) But they call me early sometimes. It takes FOREVER to get here...... 7 to 9 days!

I am wondering why my AHI has shot up from 2 or 3 one night to 7?

Thanks,
Chris

Until some of the more knowledgeable people get here, I know that when I used a traditional mask (I use the Bleep now), as the cushion got older that significantly impacted my therapy. That time frame varies from mask to mask and even person to person. I couldn't make it more than 3 weeks with one mask before needing a new cushion! My husband goes seemingly forever. So hopefully when you get your replacement, that will help.

Also, tightening down too much can have the opposite effect than the one you want. Too tight is not necessarily better. Are you certain that a bit looser would be worse?

In the absence of detailed data, it is hard to try to pinpoint a cause.

And, YAY!!! Congratulations on the 40 lb. weight loss...that is fabulous!!

I have never heard of " The Bleep Mask" before.

I will have to try to loosen my mask some and see if the AHI goes down. No, I am not saying looser would be worse I just figured that it would what I call "Fart" more. I hate when it does that.

Thank you about the weight loss <3

It's going to be really hard to tell what's going on without the data from your machine. Getting it isn't trivial, but it's not really hard either.

That's not good. Masks shouldn't be tight.

First, you need a reader that will take an SD card. The first four on that page will do that.

Second, it needs to plug into your computer.

You need an SD card in your machine, a laptop or desktop computer, and a way to read the SD card. If your computer doesn't have a slot for an SD card, as loggerhead mentions, you can buy a card reader that will plug into a USB receptacle on your computer. Then download Oscar onto your computer:

I recommend reading the Installation and Migration guide before starting. I didn't, and I should have!

Oscar software is available at https://www.sleepfiles.com/OSCAR/

OMG, if you can do nasal pillows, look at the Bleep! I know, I sound like a cheerleader for them but it was a game changer for me! I was switching masks constantly until it came out and emailing and messaging the company, trying to get my hands on it before release (they are right down the road from me and I knew about them almost as soon as I started on CPAP). I had trouble finding a mask that worked, for a variety of reasons, and was constantly changing trying to find one that worked...like every 3 to 4 weeks. I must have gone through about 15 -18 masks my first 14 months on CPAP! Drove my husband nuts...he uses the same mask all the time and his pillow last for absolute ever! And I had a big bin full of discarded masks   Anyway, since the Bleep came out just over 2 years ago...yay, I found my mask! Solved all my issues and I am a happy PAPer. No head gear (causing waking due to slipping and need to rearrange), no mask acne, no leaks/exhaust into my eyes. I get the occasional leak from my mouth popping open, but not enough to impact my therapy. And the CEO is just a phone call away if you run into any problems and need help...just an amazing resource! There are several others on here who are very satisfied with the Bleep!

The first 4 say their for cameras and video games and some that transfer data from usb to cell phone storage.

So I am looking at this one: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Type-C-Micro ... /466681095

Would that work?

I have OSCAR installed here in Lubuntu 20.04, I launched it once but really haven't done anything with it so far. I got to get a card reader first.

I read over the installation documentation and I have set up my profile and all of that.

I told it to save its files in /home/chris/OSCAR_DATA

If your computer has a USB slot, yes.

Have you checked to see if you already have an SD card slot? Many laptops do.
