The air coming through the machine is your filtered room air. If you are using the humidifier, your air will be warmed by the moist air. If you can get along without humidity, it may feel a little cooler

It would also help (if you want any) to give the name and model of the machine and mask, plus AHI's and pressure settings... not everything has one easy answer. :)

welcome to the zoo!

yes, many take off the mask when they are first starting out. it's your brain's way of saying "OH MY GOD. THERE'S A LIFE SUCKING ALIEN ON MY FACE! GET IT OFFA ME!!". your brain is thinking it's protecting you. it kind of has to be trained to no longer think along those lines.

one of the things you can do is wear the mask around the house while doing some mundane tasks or chores. this will calm your brain and get it accustomed to this alien.

may take some time, but it's worth it.

good luck!

Test pilots, astronauts, firefighters, and scuba divers have to wear masks to survive their jobs.
Next time you mask up for bed, prepare to dream yourself into an adventure.
